Good morning to all.

What a mess I seem to have caused. Thank all of you for thinking and being so concerned. My computer just gave up on me and finally got repairman in after the hurricane, Ended up being wiring on outside of house. Plus just could not find my outlook express password, so fellow changed me over to Goggle and was able to save my e-mail, all 1890 of them.

Guess my biggest worry had been not having a generator. Had used my last cylinder of oxygen when power was restored about 10:p.m. Small carry oxygen could be charged using car, only had to watch the gas gauge. If you found a station open the lines were over 2 hrs.

Katie, hope Mike is getting around a little better and the pain is easing. Way to go finding things to sell.

Marson, it's been over 4 yrs. since I lost my husband and I still come across something that brings back memories. Take care and don't do to much shoveling.

Gordon, sorry to hear you lost your friend. Please find the time to check in.

Shelly, Terry certainly has a nice voice on the phone. I never thought to leave my phone number. Glad to hear Danny got his portable oxygen and GA. son doing well. Now to get you out and running again Just type in a persons name and if you have the city and state the information will come up on computer i got a CC tablet phone. After having temper fits I gave up and ordered a jitterbug flip top. The tablet kept getting me into airplane phoning. Wonderful Jitterbug came with a great instruction book..

I am still grinning about the reaction I got when I called Susan. I said "this is Maxine " No answer, so I said Max from the pottery chat room, I heard a gasp and Susan told me my obit. had been posted. I'll bet those are odds that even Vegas couldn't come up with.

Our libraries are still trying to open. I think I donated enough paperbacks to keep one thrift going a long time. Our bank close to us took a hard hit. Winn-Dixie had just finished a remodeling job, and roof took a hit with leaks everywhere. Our one Good Will took a major hit.

Thanks Susan and Shelly for helping me get back on board. After this long post you may regret that!!!

Take care of yourselves.

Max

Good evening.

Katie fancy butter knives. Thanks for the pictures. It gets so humid in afternoons here, I hurry to get to stores and errands done very early.

Susan I no longer collect the butter knives. Sold last in one package. I wish I could get rid of my tealeaf ironstone collection. The large pitchers sold well. Had to think about the body found in Lake Mead. Wonder if they will check to see if Jimmy Hoffa? Our front page paper had headline that woman was found in septic tank (dead). I guess they sometimes covered the tank with wooden planks and would cave in if stepped on. One fellow told about watching neighbor mowing his yard and all at once he disappeared into the ground. It pays to have insurance companies you can work with. Found a ground cover plant that really looks good in planters. Florida Friendly gold sedum rupestre Remember the color chartreuse, that is what color they look like.

Have a Winn Dixie store close to me and they had so many good sales for this week. So off I went, got there and they are in middle of a massive change inside. No aisle signs up yet to find things. They are really bad about offering the BOGO sales and always waiting for the trucks to deliver. Came back home with most of my grocery list.

Gordon I play the casino games on my computer. Surprised at how many are Australian. Do you use the pound system? There are doves in our yard here that do not look like the doves that showed up in Michigan. I think Bob said they were Australian doves. Small with very bright pink legs.

Shelly what kind of weather are you having. Those fronts are moving across the country so fast. John brought me some library books when he made his weekly stop. Really don't like reading library books as I have to snack on cookies and coffee while reading How do you like those new bedroom blinds? Hooked up my printer/scanner now need to get some ink for it. Haven't used it in 3/4 yrs..

Hello Marson.

Good morning to everyone.

Finally got 2 afternoon showers.

Susan good to hear that May is going to be a good month for you. One thing about it, sounds like you don't have to go far to find things to list in booths. If I can ever figure out this new phone I will (probably) be able to send pictures It has been so dry here going to take several soaking rainfalls. Did you get Kermit all patched up? When I went with United Healthcare insurance decided to use their mail order pharmacy. Supposed to ship every 3 months. I have 2 prescriptions I only take when needed, hard to make them understand I don't need them filled every 3 months. Think I have enough potassium pills to last for another year. At least they have people actually answering their phones and not automated systems.

Katie I always watched for butter knifes when out digging around. Haven't found any at the thrifts in a long time. We have a very nice consignment shop here. Went in and asked the young girl if they had any meat platters in the houseware department. Boy talk about telling my age, poor thing wasn't sure what a meat platter even was.

Shelly had to grin at people and their reaction to this mask thing. Everyone stared at people that weren't wearing their masks out in public. Now I notice people looking at me with my mask on. Has some of that warm weather finally gotten into your area? Do you have those Golden Corral "all you can eat" restaurants in your area? Ours is open, wonder how they handle people walking up to fill their plates. Our Gov. announced the huge growth expected from people moving to FL.

Gordon did you get that flu shot? The shingles shot has been the only shot I have ever had that actually bothered me. My arm felt like it was going to drop off the day after the shot. Do you see all those brightly colored birds year round? So many small birds come to my feeders that I got a book trying to identify some. Darn things jump around so much hard to get a good look at some of them. When the red headed woodpeckers show up, most scatter.

Marson are you thawing out and seeing signs of spring?

Interesting the things showing in Lake Mead as water levels at all time low.

May here and the weather still can't make up it's mind..

Got 2 planters for outside and need some more plants. Got what I had planted and got a little afternoon shower. Need something taller. May move some of the ferns that are growing so well after cutting them back. Doesn't look like the vining plant that looked so good on the wooden fence isn't going to make it. Maybe one small area will be OK. Just enough frost a couple of nights.

Good evening,

Katie haven't hear anything further about the birds here. Just told us not to handle them if found dead. I see so many places are saying do not feed them.

Susan I can not believe that car #14 driver walked away from that wreck Sunday. Quite a race. We got a short sprinkle this afternoon. Right now we are in red "high risk" fire danger. Some areas thinking about limiting watering yards.

Shelly has the rest of your bedroom furniture shown up? The grocery store had very little assortment of bread on the shelves. Half & half coffee creamer getting harder to find. Talked with friends in MI. yesterday and they were getting snow flakes. I am sure the ground is warm enough they won't see any accumulation.

Hi to Gordon and Marson.

Prayers and thoughts go out to all that need it. Difficult to try and make things go smoothly when your loved one is ill.

We are having hot summer weather in the afternoons. cools off at night.

For some reason there seems to be more birds this spring at our feeding station. Wonder if this long dry spell is keeping them from finding feed. Haven't seen any hawks for quite a while. So may be another reason they venture out. I chop up a carrot very small for the bunnies. Lots of young squirrels.

Good evening to everyone.

Sure hope the Easter Bunny has some nice weather to hide those eggs. Tried to find some chocolate covered marshmallow eggs, all sold out.

Katie glad you were able to get Mike some more therapy. Will he go twice a week? I like to watch the way some things are always something a collector is looking for. I always bought RR dishes when I could afford it. My friends use to make fun of me for going around and buying any coffee cups/mugs that had advertising on them. My coffee mug I use every day was made by Jackson and is somewhere around 80 yrs. old. Beautiful horse was this the one that was at your sister's? What did her name mean?

Marson you must have some big drifts around the doors about now! Do you have morels in the spring?

Susan we use to try to work puzzles on a card table. All at once parts were missing. We had a cat that would get up on the table and haul pieces away. Would find them in all her special hiding places. She also loved jewelry. Already have some green tomatoes on two of the tomato plants. It has started warming up at night so think they are safe. I am not one to give up on things easily...the new phone is just about get me to that point. So much on it I have not figured out and not sure there would ever be a reason I would use them if I did. Bob had me buy some extra ammo. and that was 4 yrs. ago and I got questioned then. Glad you were able to get Bear's taken care of. Northwood green carnival glass vase...I would probably just sit and look at that. Clearing out things are now at the hard decision making. to go or to keep.

Shelly I want to rent a car to go home (Ind.) my brother designed and built his house and would like to see what he did. Also feel guilty because haven't taken care of the graves for 5 yrs. Hoping things are going well for your son. My SIL had a lump on the side of his throat that all at once started getting larger. He had cancer in his tonsils and they did surgery having to go into some of his neck muscles. Had chemo They just found out a wk. ago he has 80% blockage in both sides of his neck. Will be unable to put in stents..

Gordon you have really enjoyed so many things that you have done over the years. I suppose you don't have room for many things now. Your photography is wonderful, you manage to capture movement and colors. Thanks for sharing. Hope your friend continues to heal and get around.

Good morning to all.

I see some of us are still having bad weather. We got a 15 minute downpour an already the grass is looking green. Next will be the lawn mower.

Why didn't someone mention how hard it is to try and set up those phone tablets. I have worked with blueprints and layouts, but never like trying to understand what they are trying to show me. I don't think I will ever have any use for most of the features they show me.

Susan sounds like you have been one busy lady. Got done in one day that would probably take a week for me. I called a couple of the rental car companies. Gave them their laugh for the day. There just isn't any cars for rent. Said to try back in early fall. Wouldn't even take my name, said a waste of time. Our county is under a burn ban. I keep watching the water temp. for the Gulf and it is way warmer then usual for this time of the year.

Finally pulled out all the paperwork I was trying to contact companies by phone. Sat down and wrote a form letter to all of them and explained I understood the shortage of help. Was not going to be on hold for over 50 minutes with no results. So mailed them every piece of information I thought they might want. Not quite sure why the insurance co. that cancelled me wants to have a copy of my new home insurance. It is no wonder our information gets out to scanners. I have never seen so many questions to fill out. Just waiting for a crook!

Fellow was here bright and early and installed 2 new springs. $430. so hoping those will last for a few years.

Katie and Shelly maybe this last batch of bad weather will miss both of you. Good to hear Marson is finally having some of that snow melt. Know it makes a muddy mess.

Gordon our paper this morning had an article that our county has a warning about bird flu. Seems they have tested some birds and found it. They say little chance dogs will contact it, a little higher chance for cats.

Keep your eyes to the sky.

My new phone has arrived. Maybe in a couple of weeks I will figure out just how all the things work on it. Will settle on just making calls and entering in personal phone numbers right now.

Good morning. Looks like we just might get some of that rain with thunderstorms. Really windy yesterday. Had to keep a close eye on the recycling and trash cans. Plus the one with yard trimmings and a paper bag we can use. We have the automatic loading for the cans and sometimes they get them a little to close to the street.

Our crazy weather maps have all the color coding for what is going on. Just when I get a color figured out , here comes another map with different colors.

Katie glad you are making the trip to see the Dr. How is your blood pressure?

Susan it looks like you are going to spend most of the weekend inside. All set for Wednesday for garage door, and going to replace both springs. I love the south, and don't like much west of the Mississippi. I'm from Indiana and that state is kind of divided. Depending what part you are living in. I keep getting calls from Medicare. They all come up scam. Have you ever ordered any plants from QVC? They have some really unusual plants. Never checked for hummingbirds.

Shelly I watched the Texas storage wars last night. Some horrible looking units but lots of good things tucked away. I tried to list some things in our paper yesterday. Their message was "due to shortage of help our options have changed." They were so confusing I gave up. Will check again today. If I tried to call I am sure it would be one of those wait and wait deals. To place a free ad it must contain 15 words or less. Want to list some depression glass and hard to limit to 15 words.

Gordon I will check with the installer when he comes Wed. about those springs breaking. Decided to get both done since with my luck the old one will break a little later. We open the big door half way and I wonder if that puts to much pressure on it when we leave it that way all day. Not sure if it is the weather or being close to the salt water. Things don't seem to last very long. Took the railing at the pool steps to be powder coated. It was all beat up. That should have lasted for years and I see rust coming on it.

Marson thought of you Wed. when I went grocery shopping. They had so many kinds of candy out for Easter. I managed to make it past all of it!

Had a great shopping day Wed. Went to bank and then grocery shopping. Left the oxygen in the car. Did just fine. Really hard for me to remember to slow down. I have always walked so fast.

Happy birthday Trista Logue.

Everyone take care.

Good afternoon.

Katie, did you find out what is causing the dizzy spells? Did you get a chance to speak with your DR.?

Hadn't posted in 4 days so needed to dig out my password. Sometimes I think people that use the same password for everything have the right idea. I make out a list of a few made-up passwords to use. Always surprised when I enter one and reply comes back in use.

Gordon this is second spring that has been replaced. Actually waiting to replace it. Out of stock and not sure when any will be back on shelves. I wonder if wear caused as we open the garage door about half way when out there cooking or reading. Have a nice cozy area. Service fellow very nice and gave me another Co. to try.

More phone games today. One Co. had a 54 minute waiting period. When I finally talked with them, they had to have paperwork sent to them. When I got this last computer I turned down having a fax machine with it. Dumb move, as almost all companies want fax and not e-mail. Then I ordered myself a new cell phone. The flip top one I now have I have problems with numbers sticking when I enter them. In fact all of my morning spent on the phone. After a long wait I got hold of our utility co. For some reason I hadn't gotten a March bill. They said it was mailed the 14th and they are one town over from me. So got the amount and mailed that out.

Susan glad you called at the right time and was able to speak with Bear. I was surprise when I read you didn't like Chicago. When I was a kid that was the big city we went to. Caught a train into Chicago, can you imagine doing that today? Looked at some big planters to start some tomato plants in. Garden fertilizer sure made a big jump in price. Wonder why the guy waited so long to bring a lawsuit against you? Probably figured other witnesses would be hard to find now. We are having those cool mornings but by noon it is in the eighties and wind comes up. Still no rain.

Shelly any news from your son? I miss going out to lunch with people I use to work with. There was a nice restaurant across the street from one place I worked. Last one across the road from airport and they had good sandwiches. Tracey went for groceries at WM yesterday and said it looked like all the prices had gone up in the grocery side. Gas has come down a few cents, don't know for how long.

Marson have you been able to get that door open? Be safe.

Good morning.

Katie wish we had just a little of your drizzle. Hope the buyer shows up for your items. I tried Craig's List a few time and people called but most never bothered to show up. Lots of yard and estate sales all at once. Our winter visitors like to check things out before heading back home. Since they added a sidewalk on opposite side of our street it has really limited any parking for having yard sales.

Shelly I see you are staying busy as usual. The spring on our garage door broke. The service fellow just left. Has no idea when parts will be available. So had to dig out our keys for the front door as we always go in and out using the garage door. Still waiting to see how much damage that couple of nights of frost had done to our shrubs and flowers. Not looking good. There is one big nursery close that is like walking in a park. I have a hard time looking at things at Home Depot. They have things inside and the humidity is very high and really makes it hard to breathe if staying long.

Susan from reading your last post I sure hope thing are going better for you. Know what you mean about stress. The deal with my insurance set me back. I was so surprised when my attorney told me to keep every scrap of paperwork that was issued to me when Bob was in the hospital the last time. Said to keep it for seven years. Said so many times bills would show up from specialists that looked at a patient in hospital and would be 2-3 yrs. after incident. Guess so many just toss the paperwork away. Are you getting any wind or rain from those tornados? Looks like New Orleans got hit hard again. They are still cleaning up from hurricanes. Doesn't look like the weather is going to calm down.

Hello to Gordon and Marson.

Good morning.

Got most of the house vacuumed. Sure raises my pulse rate.

Muggy morning and looks and feels like rain.

Susan I need to remember with COPD stress can really set a person back. I got so upset about the cancellation of my home insurance. Ended up spending 2 days calling companies. Found one that actually had a office that spoke with customers. They were great about helping me and comparing my current policy to make sure I was able to understand some of their policies. We are abut 15 minutes from Ft. Myers Tracy got some unusual pansies for a planter. Deep purple, very small, with white ruffled edges. Irene lived in Ohio.

Katie glad to hear Boss is resting and doing better. Not sure I want to get another dog and get so attached to them. They sure are a lot of company.

Shelly I have to post here at least every 3 days or I have to go and enter my password all over. Do you wear your masks when you go out to eat? Not many home owned restaurants around here any more. I keep thinking about the popcorn shrimp from Red Lobster. Always a line there to be seated. Good to hear you had a nice time with your friends.

Marson just as I think your weather might be improving, I see more bad weather forecast.

Hi Gordon. I bet you are out photographing the wildlife.

First day of spring. Hope it is nice enough for everyone to enjoy.

Good morning.

Woke up at midnight with some very loud thunder. Never saw any lightning flashes. Got a little rain, anything helps. Yes the rain seems to stop in a line north of us in the Tampa area.

Our bluejays are very pretty and so loud. The cardinals are fun to watch. They always seem to come in pairs. Male comes right in but female stays back and very careful. The woodpeckers vary in color, have one huge one with bright red head. There are black birds that I think are starlings. The squirrels wont let them stay and feed. The doves are so careful and only come down to the ground to feed when they can stay away from rest of birds. The squirrels seem to like them. I have my first cup of coffee in mornings watching all the activity.

Susan does any trash removal company have the large containers they leave at house? The price is worth it if you have lots to remove. You sound like your driveway is a little tricky. Forgot to mention the mashed potatoes best with some bacon gravy and lots of black pepper. Had a bowl of cream of wheat for breakfast. Had gotten some peaches and they were actually very good. Had to let them ripen a little more. Is it this weekend the big race in Atlanta?

Gordon between the fires you had last year and the floods this year, crops and gardens must be struggling. Are the tourists starting to come back?

When our families were getting ready for the big gettogethers for the holidays and that sort of thing, there was one rule all of us learned very young. NO talk about politics or religion.

Shelly hopefully the weather will stay nice so you and friends can get out and enjoy some time out of the house. Found anything good for eBay sales? I have a set of milk glass dishes getting ready to box up for GW.

Katie do you sell on FB? I know quite a few that do well. EBay was so much fun when you could see who you were bidding against. Also made some good contacts for help and information.

Marson rain on top of that snow doesn't sound good. Maybe some of the drifts will start melting. Be safe.

Hello to all.

Yes, we got a downpour that lasted all of 5 minutes. High wind and temp. dropped. Got rid of any humidity. Sun managed to come out at the end of the day. Very cool so far today.

Great to see March basketball madness on TV this weekend.

Katie I got up one morning and stepped on the scales. I was up to 152 lbs. Was uncomfortable to even sit at table to eat. Mostly stood at counter. Made up my mind this had to end or I wouldn't be able to do anything for myself. Weighed this morning and down to 139, going for 135. My Dr. was worried about weight loss so steady and ran every known test on blood. All came back great but oxygen level. I dream of mashed potatoes, donuts & pie.

My letter from my insurance co. says notice of nonrenewal "Reduction of hurricane exposure" They want everyone to have roofs not over 10 yrs. old.

Shelly how are you today? Hope the wind and snow wasn't to bad for your area. Living by the Great Lakes a beautiful place, but rough going sometimes in the winter.

Everyone be safe out there. Gordon don't shop to often at that fancy gas station!! Were showing how much a trucker now has to pay to fill up their truck.

Good afternoon to all. Have been busy with this and that.

Still waiting for just a little rain. Panhandle of Fl. really had some bad brush fires.

Daughter came in last night looking in shocked. She had topped off her gas tank. Said first time she had ever paid $35. for 7 gal of gas. No telling what it is today.

Katie how are you feeling with your new medication? You can see people driving over 70 mph. with those little emergency tires on here on I-75.. Bet they had to have alignment job on car afterwards.

Susan I couldn't even get a cup of coffee poured without missing a blown tire on race last weekend. They say we are going to cool down a little here, looks like most rain will be north of us. I know all our grocery stores are showing bare aisles in pet food sections. Certain brands of bread getting harder to find. My refrigerator looks like it is ready to be replaced. Now they want to bundle things and I don't need a dishwasher or microwave. Would go with stove and refrigerator. The more I wait the higher prices go!!

Gordon I watch BBC Worldwide and they were showing the floods in your country. When is the last time something like this has happened? Can Sylvia put any weight on her foot with the missing toe? Our neighbor has had both of her big toes removed. Has a bit of a rolling gait when when she walks now.

Shelly I fell for the same thing with curtains. Cute kitchen curtains and I bought what I thought was 2 pr. Got them home and had one panel in each pkg. Went back and all sold out on the pattern. You may want to cover those daffodils from the looks of the weather map. Boy what a year this has been. We continue to have above normal readings. I had sent Reen a Christmas card with a note and had wondered how she was doing as she didn't respond.. Having chili and a salad for dinner

Our papers had been warning people that insurance companies were going to be cancelling home owners insurance. Got my notice Monday. So spent a day just researching and calling insurance companies. Been with this agency for over 23 yrs.

Marson hope that candy supply is holding up and you are doing OK.

Hello to everyone. Hope everyone is tucked in and safe.

Made a pot of 16 bean soup. putting two large zip lock bags in freezer. Going to do veg. soup next week. Takes me all day when I do that.

Very hot out today. Still no rain in sight. I know many of you have plenty of rain.

Had a beautiful cardinal and his mate in yard yesterday morning. Finding I can use up the dry dog food if I take a hammer and smash it for the birds. We had a thrift store run by the animal shelter. They closed. They would accept opened bags of dog food.

Our new dog went back to the shelter. Just not going to work out as a house dog. Would never be able to leave him alone in a house. Told them at shelter to list him as no small children, one person owner, never without a leash outside. It is a no kill shelter and they have relisted him with all that.

Days of the little trailer courts are about gone here in this part of FL. Every time a hurricane hits and they stop them from relocating. People really take good care of their pets. I have only seen a couple of dogs running loose, and you could tell they were lost.

Good morning, fog this morning. Supposed to get up to 87 today.

Katie glad the procedure is over. Hope you got a good nights sleep. From the looks of your area you may not venture out today.

Carpets came out looking very good. Now for the bedrooms. My new Hoover vacuum is great but cord is so short. Have to keep unplugging and moving around. Makes it harder in bedrooms because some of plugins have dressers or desks in front of them.

Shelly I remember you saying son had a fire, thought it wasn't major. What are they doing, staying with relatives? Someone gave my FIL a pit bull young dog. When you went to their house the dog would get up in his lap and watch your every move. Never let Tracey go when I knew it was in the house.

Be careful out there.

Good morning to all.

Looks like another week of changing weather. Beginning to think it has forgotten how to rain here.

Shelly and Marson I think the two of you are getting the worst of the weather right now. Katie I am surprised at the warmup for your area. Maybe you will be able to make that medical appointment soon.

Gordon I see your country is now open to travelers.

The shelter called daughter to ask if dog she had returned had stopped eating. They said he wouldn't eat and only get up to go out of pen to go to bathroom or get a drink of water. Couple took him home and brought him back, he wouldn't move around. So "sucker" daughter brought him home again. He has been running around like he is wild and certainly eating well.

What a price shock at Walmart. They have gone up and up on almost all their prices. Glad I have a very short grocery list for the week coming up.

Susan I think the freeze we had down here did more damage then first thought. I see so many yards with shrubs and trees being removed. Our vine that went all along fence isn't going to make it. Going to be hard cutting it out of the fence. Three of my friends have made plans and had to cancel them for a trip to Vegas. Tried to talk me into going. I hate to fly and checking my oxygen on and off would be a struggle. I really enjoyed watching the curling and snowboarding. I see the viewers way down this year. Sure couldn't say that about the NSCAR attendance

Shelly "Ms. Clean" up bright and early and she shampooed some of the carpet. I had gotten a new Hoover shampooer and really seems to do the job. I didn't know your son lost his house from a fire. Is this the one that lives in GA.? Hope you are enjoying the finished bathroom and bedroom. I look at beef roast and not worth the price.

Watching the news right now probably not good for our B/P.. .

Good morning. A little rain n the night.

Sorry to hear about all the problems with so many. Certainly hope only a scare to get Sylvia to stay off her foot. Falls seem to be showing up with all the ice and blowing wind. Katie you are lucky they find you advance appointment so quick. Gordon now how long do you wait for second procedure? Could you see to drive home from first? I sit in parking lot for about an hr. waiting for drops to clear up.

Interesting trip grocery shopping. With the exception of a few boxes all the frozen dinners were gone. So many frozen pizzas they could hardly close the doors. Guess they are planning on Super Bowl to sell them.

Olympics sure keep a person up late. Amazing watching the snowboarding. Will have to switch over for the Super Bowl this afternoon.

Do any of you read the news on the computer? I always read all of it, but they are now blocking most of papers until you subscribe to them.

Katie good to hear the newest member of your family has arrived.

Susan I sure enjoyed the NASCAR races held at the L.A. coliseum. It looked like some tricky driving was required. Bush kind of lost steam right at the end.

Our new dog is going back to the shelter. A hard decision to make but some very disturbing things started to show up. Chewed the corner of my chair, tried to chew up back seat of car. Will not stop trying to chase anything that moves. No matter what name we try to use, he doesn't respond to any of them. Called the shelter to make sure we had correct name on his paperwork. Our vet said he is mostly pit-bull with terrier

Good afternoon. Made it up to 82 yesterday. Not quite as warm today, looks and feels like rain. We sure need some.

Marson you always cheer me up when you post. Sounds like you just take life as it comes and make the best of everything. Stay safe and watch out for that ice.

Katie did you manage to get a new date for your surgery? What a scare with your dog taking off in such bad weather. Daughter brought home the new dog, and we are being very careful about doors and screens, Sounds like your bad weather not over yet.

Shelly have never seen a Iguana around here. Guess they fall and as soon as the temp. goes up a little they get up. People say they are very messy and make a mess on their docks and dig around in yards. I know some get rather large. Sounds great that you are finally making some progress on the construction around the house.

Susan you must not know what to do with all the Christmas gifts finally gone. A cat can make a person crazy. They just sit out of reach and smirk at us. We had one that would sit and groom herself and watch to see if she could think of anything else to do to upset us. I can see you already have plans to fill in all the empty spaces! Bear had the right idea, when a person can't take care of their own, they shouldn't expect handouts later in life.

Gordon is it getting warm for you? Our fishermen hated those cormorants. They ate so much fish, especially the young fish. Love that you are able to get those action shots.

Stayed up very late watching the young folks come around the parade area in their clothing designed for their country and the Olympics. Felt so sorry for the very small countries that only had a couple of people for their country. Putin looked really proud when he stood when his country passed by.

I see Tom Brady is going to retire.

Don't want to miss the opening ceremony for the Olympia Looks like from clips they show will really be a big production. Wonder if they are having problems with the virus .

Found first snake skin when I went out to feed the critters this morning.

Good morning.

31 degrees and the Iguanas are falling. Nice bright sunshine. Poor Tourist board for FL. very quiet this morning. I see the tropical fruit trees in neighbors yard looks like hit hard. Maybe we won't have those mangos all over the yard this year.

Always glad when week-ends are over. Have to wonder where our TV programmers come up with some of the programs. Glad to see the Bengals win, had been a long long time for them. Watched Chatsworth, missed the first part.

Katie hope the sun comes out and melts the snow and ice so you can make it out for your appointment. They are now talking about ice storms moving across the states.

Susan no space heaters, Hopefully this is our winter and I can put away the big heavy quilts. We had no birds or squirrels in the yard yesterday. Only our crow family has shown up this morning. Plant City hosing the strawberry fields. Right in the middle of this seasons crops.

Gordon that is a reward winning shot of that kite. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting that underground coal mining now trying to connect with fire that destroyed so many homes in Colorado recently

Shelly did they do anything to help with those frozen pipes? With no basement must be hard to get enough insulation. I love Marie Calendars frozen pies. The berry one really good. Tracey went to the new BJ'S and said some good prices. So busy was hard to look around..

Marson is there any cure for the C-Nile virus? It may be to late for me. Gotten to the point I even have a hard time finding my coffee cup. Be safe.

To everyone out there where the snow is falling, please be extra careful. Tonight supposed to be our cold night.

Gordon I had the same thoughts when I saw the news about the bridge and the speech being given for another bill for money. They showed a city bus as one of the autos caught in the collapse. I understand it was a wooden bridge, usually they have weight restrictions.

Gordon you had such a low virus count, and now running rampant. I worry that is what is going to happen with FL. We get more and more visitors and I am sure not all have been vaccinated. Not that that seems to really matter. Notice I have to be VERY careful about putting important papers away, otherwise never sure if I put them in files or stuck them in desk drawers. Will a homecare nurse come and check and dress Sylvia's toe?

Another gloomy cool day. We did get a little rain sometime in the night. Our county fair opens this coming wk.-end. FL. strawberries are on the market.

Shelly hope they got the frozen water pipes fixed in your new bathroom. After waiting this long. I use to hate turning on the faucets at night when it got cold and wind chill would be so bad. We had a circular drive so usually could get out for work. I have been using Google so much lately I'm surprised I haven't gotten a notice asking "Don't you know anything?"

Katie, Bob was on a pretty strict diet. I have finally gotten to where I like using olive oil. One of my favorite things using the olive oil is asparagus cooked on the grill. Good planning on the medication. I do a 2 wk. schedule and always make sure I don't use the last day before refilling.

Marson stay warm and safe. Do you work on puzzles in the winter?

Susan I'll bet you are getting some of our gloomy weather. So far the rain has stayed south of us Daughter trying to get in to see some dogs at the shelters. Now have to have a reservation and very short hrs. for viewing. Need three personal references, name of bank and if property owned or rented. How many people live in house, is yard fenced. Some want to come and check your house, others want pictures of fenced yard. Asked her if she was trying to adopt a child!! Seniors unable to adopt a puppy. Only thing that makes good sense.

Good morning. Woke up and it was 61 degrees in the house. The furnace was running yesterday, but not putting out any heat. So repairman will be here this afternoon. Sun shining so will get a little warmer in here. Hot cup of coffee feels good to carry around.

Gordon what a beautiful bird picture. Do you frame any of them to sell? Good news for your friend. Our neighbor has had both of her big toes removed. Has a rolling gait when walking now.

Susan needed something for my outside family. Diced up a carrot very small, had some blueberries, old fashioned rolled oats, and smeared peanut butter on some of oats. So I see a few doves already checking it out. Last couple of days have made me regret giving away so much of my MI. winter clothes. There is a small town close to Asheville that has the most interesting quilt shop. So many of the quilts have written history that comes with them. My Mother made the hooked rugs that everyone used. She used only one wooden hook.

Katie know it is bad to have to sit and wait to see if you and Mike are going to be OK. When furnace guy shows up will make sure he is wearing a mask. Is your 50 degrees showing up?

Hello Shelly. I see you are busy as usual. Would make sure Danny's friend visits more often. That was a lot of shoveling. Got caught up on my laundry yesterday and made a pot of baked beans. Anything to get a little heat in the house! Your friend Marie must be very weak. From cancer and having COVID. Prayers to her and all the people out there struggling.

Marson thinking of you and hope you aren't out there doing to much shoveling.

Your halo is shining brighter and brighter. I love the old movies where everyone has a cigarette and a drink in their hands. Watch the old reruns of Perry Mason every evening.

Marson will it be about April as you wait for a warmer day to clear the deck? Hope some customers show up at thrift in that weather.

Susan odd that for a few years we had so many blue jays. Now haven't seen or heard one in months. Have a lot of those very small doves that always seem to come in pairs. Have seen a couple of orange and black butterflies and some of the small yellow ones lately.
DD looking at the shelter sites for another dog. I see they are up to the $300. range for adoption. She likes those really big dogs. What kind of quilt are you taking to your booth?

Not doing one thing today but eat and read.

Please everyone be careful and stay bundled up.

Had a early DR. appointment this morning. Some interesting sightseeing. People with flip flops and heavy woolen socks. Short shorts with heavy jackets. One lady looked like she just opened her closet and piled on everything she could. Was in very low 40's and not warming up today.

Little critters were at the feeders bright an early. They didn't venture out yesterday. Had some taco shells I crumbled up for the little sparrows.

Good morning, wind blowing and very cool this morning.

Susan the part where they tell us to stay away from windows kind of hard to do. We have windows everywhere plus those big slider window/doors. Two walk-in closets are located with walls all around them. No limbs or branches down yet. 10" of snow in Asheville must be quite a traffic stopper.

Katie glad they found your medical problem. Odd how a person ends up with something and have tried to take care of themselves. No one believed me when I told them I had never smoked. They said my lungs looked like charcoal. I am walking proof of second hand smoke.

Gordon glad they moved the eye surgery ahead for you. Guess I would have also wondered why the change in dates. I am sure they will be laughing at your response for a long time.

Shelly I'll bet the wind is howling off the lake. How does that new car get around in snow or have you ventured out?

Marson I am sure you are all snuggled in with lots of cold and blowing and drifting. Guess thinking about spring might be just a little to early. Hope the chocolate supply holds up. Be safe.

We have a farmers market that has opened up in the area. Open on Tuesday. Had article in todays paper and looks like quite a few vendors plus food trucks.

Be careful if you really have to venture out.

Good morning, a very windy day here. Looks like another week of yard work coming up.

Gordon, what a wonderful shot of the bird. Do you just come along and see the wildlife or do you sit and wait for a good picture? The birds are so beautiful with their bright colors. I still think the owls you have shown are my favorites. Thank you for that rain forest site. Was in Chicago when the King Tut exhibit was there. It was a wonderful exhibit and we hit it in late afternoon. Could take our time looking. What a very small child/man he was. They had a chair on exhibit and it wasn't much bigger then a doll house type chair. Unbelievable what they did with gold working it into masks and things. The area I lived in in MI. was home to the Passenger Pigeon. They were hunted into extinction because they were hunted for food for fancy restaurants.

Katie the word "disabled" certainly fell short for Mike's care. What is so sad, by the time we struggle with all the paperwork, someone tells us the rules have changed. Kind of like the struggle with this virus. Not the same rules day by day. Different rules for different states. FL. is rather wide open and our virus rates are climbing again.

Susan I've looked at all the phones out there, and going to go with Jitterbug. One place I called said backlog on orders. Now why didn't I think of that?? I have Consumers Cellular. I called about the number skipping since no real handbook came with phone to be used as a troubleshooter. They said send the phone back in. Bob had a cell phone with AT&T and let them have it for checking. When he got it back all his saved address/phone numbers had been deleted. At least Bear is on the waiting list to be next for a private room. Will he like being by himself in a room. Last wk.-end watching football got very interesting. I am sitting not paying that much attention to the game. All at once here is a player running along the playing field pulling off his uniform and throwing things into stand.

Shelly I can not get over the fact that I use to go out ice fishing every winter. We lived on a small inland lake and just went out the door and onto the ice. Loved the fishing, had a small ice shanty with a small stove in it. Now it gets down to 65 and I am bundled up with shoes and socks on down here. Guess it doesn't take long to have thinner blood. No Tracey isn't selling on eBay right now. Got into a real argument with buyer about a picture. So she said heck with it, just to many rules. John seems to be doing well, and had his first checkup since stents were replaced. He is really watching his diet. They eat almost no meat. Fish has really gotten very expensive here.

Marson you should pack your suitcase and head down to FL. I think there is a food truck on every corner down here. I am sure you are enjoying a good book and some chocolate

Watching The Roosevelts on TV. Right now just professional football on.
