Good morning Potty friends,
Sunday morning and I am finalizing a listing for a 19th century sterling top puff jar.
Woke up to 2 ridiculously low offers. How does one respond to these? I would like to ignore them but then I think maybe the offering party may think that their offers might not have been received by the seller.
Just this last week I did have the satisfaction of selling and shipping 2 items that had received such offers. Have to admit though that I did accept very low offers on 2 items that had been in my inventory from way back.
Thanks for any sharing on the subject of low offers.
Helen in Indy
PS @nancyg —Did you come round to check my incorrectly titled candle snuffer? I corrected it. Thanks and by-the-way one of those ridiculously low offers that came in overnight was the candle snuffer.

Gordon,
Add my condolences. I lost my 97 yo mother in 1981. I look at her picture almost first thing every morning. The Great-Granddaughter told me just recently " Well, you look a lot like her."

@nancyg --- I finally got some images of those Pfaltzgraff bowls. They are Yorktowne aren't they?

@nancyg Nancy , Remember when you ID the Pfaltzgraff Blue Village for me? And I thank you for that ID. I got the hostess set listed and have had it up a couple of times with no takers. I'm sure that I also had a bread plate but don't know where it is. I now have a candle snuffer and couple of forks to list. Looks like a few items are selling. We'll see how mine does.

@nancyg I, too, put in a full set of measurements. Some of which are in Items Specific. But always a fulls set within the listing. If I think the some or part of the measurements are a little weird I ask that they check carefully.
Here is the listing :::
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251097025135&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123
I like some of your suggestions. I have always refunded for any problem but don't mention that in my terms. Most of the time I tell the buyer to keep the item and do as they wish with it.

@nancyg The padded FRE and business size are now at different and more expensive rates than the regular FRE. I just printed a a label for a regular Flat Rate Envelope with the charge of $4.90 showing. There is nothing to indicate that this label is for a regular FRE. I hope that when printing for a padded or business size it will state which one this label is for.

@nancyg --- No , i am talking about this ad::
http://www.ebay.com/itm/German-Beer-Stein-Berlin-Germany-Relief-1-2L-/370572766115?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5647dbaba3
Once when I looked at the ad it was for a very distracting ad for business cards. Another time it was promoting UPS. So eBay must changing the ad to different paid advertisers.

@nancyg I was assuming that the ad was a result of the ad being a free listing. A quote from the GB member's post that made me make that assumption---" If you recall, 2 or 3 years ago they tried this business of putting other ads on sellers listings & couldn’t get away with it because of the outcry which even reached national TV. No way was it ethical or even legal for sellers to pay for listings only to find other peoples ads on their item pages. BUT………. if the listings are free, you can’t do anything about it. This is precisely why Ebay started up the free listings: So that they can now LEGALLY make big bucks in advertising revenue off of your listings!"
Apparently it is not on all the free ads. A Glass Board member said it was not on his either. Just something to watch for. In any case I would not be happy with that fluttering ad on one of my listings but not anything one could do about it.

@nancyg / Nancy - I remember the dairy that Mom & Dad owned. We milked 40 head of Holsteins & Guernseys + Dad's crossbreeds (selected Holstein cows bred to Guernsey bulls via artificial insemination). Dad consistently supplied Milk Co-op with 3.7+ % butterfat milk. He took pride in the end-of-year bonus check for high butterfat content.

Talk to everyone on Thursday !!
