Hi Max. Not really shut up. We of course leave the furnace set at about 62 and don't shut the water off or winterize it. We have to be going up to rake leaves although we do have the perennials all cut back. Up to our hineys in leaves here too. Be glad when the snow flies and yard work is done.

I went up last week as some of the trim on the house needed a fresh coat of paint. Wondering when that thing called leisure kicks in?

Good morning. Shelly no Fran wasn't ill but she did have knee replacements, lost a huge amount of weight and is just fine. Hi Max. Went up to the lake Fri and Sat to mow and clean windows. Yeah, yard work getting caught up but it's getting much harder for us old crocks to take care of two houses an hour and forty five minutes apart. LOL. Of course the kids think that since we're retired we have all the time in the world.
Toad posts all the time on FB about all his finds. I think his house must look like Treasure Hoarders.
I did in fact yesterday morning find the FIND of a lifetime. Hit an estate sale in southern Michigan and found THIS: http://www.bonanza.com/listings/Burgess-Leigh-Flow-Blue-Platter-Non-Pareil-Pattern-Ca-1891/4335442 I am still in total shock. I paid FIVE dollars for it. I still am darned breathless.

Shelly a few weeks back a P.O. truck pulled out of a driveway and hit DH's car. Did 2,000 worth of damage. The mail guy got out ranting, raving and going "postal!" The police came and told the mail guy off saying they were supposed to obey the rules of the road like any driver. Talk about fantastic luck, behind the mail truck was a car with a flashing light containing a POSTAL INSPECTOR who sided with DH. LOL so there is a damage claim to come out of the P.O. budget.

Excellent point Shelly however I can get along nicely without Beyonce's singing, Oprah and her racist views, sport's stars and the likes of Michael Moore preaching, multi millionaires all. I cannot however get along without the products of companies that produce oil, food, materials to build houses, and so on and so forth. I can also get along without the likes of Gore and Michael Moore ranting about Global warming while raking in millions, and telling us about our evil "carbon footprint." BTW poor Al, it's so cold at his mansion in TN that he had to purchase another house in a more temperate climate. http://www.globalwarminghoax.com/news.php?extend.135
Beg to differ Gordon. Record warmth there and record cold here. Of course Algore keeps perpetuating the myth. He's made many millions of dollars.
Now I know we can both find sites to back up our opinions but many leading atmospheric scientists have said that it has slowly reversed. The temperatures have fluctuated many times over the millenia.

Reen you are so right. The world is turning into a pig sty. Some of the cities we have walked are unreal. Cairo and Athens looked like there was a garbage collectors strike. Rome, yeah kinda bad also London. At least Athens and London had some clean areas. Prolly where the tourists go so they try to keep it clean. The tourist spots in Rome also fairly clean but OMG why do young people think they need to put graffiti on everything?
Will say Sydney was rather clean Gordon. Keflavik, Iceland was pristine clean.
In the US we saw glas IV bottles and plastic bags laying on the beach. Didn't think those were even used anymore. Red Rocks outdoor theater in Colorado had hypodermic needles laying all over. Prolly from a rock concert. It us sad how many brainless half wits there are mucking up the planet.

There is some sort of mystery illness making dogs very ill and even causint death. There have been cases down in Cincinnati but a friend who lives up in Cleveland just spent over a thousand saving his little Havanese. They suspect some sort of virus possibly spread in feces.
We don't take Teddy to the doggie park anymore. Afrais he'll pick something up and the fact that he found out that if he hung out at the picnic tables where the humans sit that he gets petted, stroked, fawned over and told he's beautiful.
Why get all hot running after a ball when you can do that. He did like to get in the doggie pool but we won't let him do that now.

Susan I once adopted a tiny kitten. Named her Phoebe and took her in to the vet. Doctor informed me that Phoebe was indeed a boy. Changed his name to Riley.
Yesterday was shot and check up day for calico Daphne. We adopted her from the animal hospital. The doctor who we adopted her from actually saved her life. She was brought in as a tiny almost newborn only five inches long and infested with fleas. The doctor said she was sure she was a lost cause and almost left her to die but she said she "just had to try!" A miracle happened and after days on fluids and a blood transfusion the little baby lived. This is Daphne. I did post this picture last Sunday. http://i42.tinypic.com/23p25t.jpg
