    Hi all,

It's been a while since I checked in. It is official, The drought is over !!! Now we are flooding . We got 3 1/2 inches today, and it is still raining. Altogether, we have gotten over 15 inches since the 1st of May. The farm that I grew up on in the 40's is apparently under water. When we owned it, my father refused to sell any of it to people that wanted to build a home. After he sold it in the 50's it was cut up into several lots. My Dad told people that he could not sell any of it for homes because it got under water quite often. Our house was about 1/2 a mile from the creek that runs thru it, and floods every few years. I can remember standing on our porch and watching the flood waters lapping onto the 2nd step. I was about 5. The TV just said that flood warnings are in effect until Monday morning. Also they are calling for more rain through next week. They are opening up shelters here in Iowa Park, as well as some in Wichita Falls. At least, you won't be hearing me complain about the drought any more.

Happy birthday, Katie. My grand-daughter-in-law lives in Columbia, Mo while my grandson is doing his residency in Iowa. She is working on her doctorate in English History and is teaching at UMC. We had planned to make a trip to Mo, but thank goodness we cancelled it, or we would have been traveling in this weather mess.

Bob, my husband, was bit on one leg by a spider and is taking antibiotics for it, and then he twisted his other knee and having to doctor it. He is getting very wobbely when he walks. My vision isn't any better, and sometimes when I get tired I have to stop trying to read or work at the computer. It is very aggravating. I am still having a lot of low blood sugar episodes, even though my diabetes is under pretty good control.

It is good to see more posts on here.
