Pottery Chatroom Board

Hello all,

I didn't realize that it had been almost a month since I checked in. we have been really busy, trying to finish up with the siding on our enclosed patio. We are just about finished with it, and now the next project is to paint the whole house. We will need to find someone to paint the gables on the house. There are 4, and they are really high....higher than I will let Bob climb on a ladder, and I sure can't do it. Today I did some painting, priming the new wood we had to replace, and it wore me out. We are expecting temps in the 70's and 80's for most of the week. We finally had to turn the furnace on Saturday night. The night time temps are in the 40's now. Our daughter, Susan, and her husband have been helping us on her days off., usually Friday and Saturday. We have to stop work on Friday until after Thanksgiving, as I need to do major housecleaning before turkey day. All of my family comes here for dinner. They all bring food, and eat and visit all day. We told Susan that when she buys our house, that Thanksgiving comes with it. It has been a tradition for over 50 years.

Carol got her check for the house last week. now she has to make a list for the contents so she can collect the check for it. They wouldn't let her go into some of the rooms until last Friday. The insurance company said they thought she could sell the lot and what was left of the house for around $35 thousand. She is looking for a small home in a good neighborhood to buy. The cost of a new home in a new neighborhood is too much for her to even consider, and the new homes are too big anyway.

I need to shut down and get to bed.
