Hi All,
We have managed to get a little bit of yard and garden work done. The temps have been in the low 60's for several days, but the wind has been blowing at 15 to 20 or more, so it has been chilly. I have been digging iris and amaryllis bulbs. I gave a few to a neighbor, and have another neighbor who wants some. I plan to move a few of them to other beds that have bare spots, but don't know what I will do with the rest of them. Bob called the city, and they said they wanted them, but it has been 2 weeks, and they haven't picked them up. I planted 2 new rose bushes and a Carolina Jasmine. I have glads and Dutch iris to plant after I get the mulch down. Tomorrow the temp is supposed to get into the upper 70's and the 80's on Tuesday, so hopefully I will get a lot done.
Max, we were above average for rainfall last year, and are above the average so far this year. We put in 3 big rain tanks that each hold 325 gals each, so we are prepared to keep everything watered this year. So far, we have had a hard time keeping them from running over. 2 inches of rain fills them. We have had fire warnings several days because of high winds, and so much dry grass. It just takes us longer to get anything done, because we have to stop and rest so much. We are just glad that at this age, 86 for Bob, and almost 79 for me, that we can still do most anything we want to do. Bob got a good report from the cardiologist last week, and I got a good report from the kidney specialist a couple of weeks ago, so we are doing well.
It is getting late, so I had best get myself off to bed. Goodnight to all.
Ann
