Shovelled the deck & driveway yesterday in anticipation of the weather we're getting today - lots of snow & winds at 50 km per hour - visibility is starting to decrease. Glad I went grocery shopping yesterday as the next few days don't sound like ones to go out in unless necessary.
Tomorrow is Remembrance Day - the stores are closed from 9:00-1:00 and then they open for the day. Gives us a chance to remember the sacrifices the army, navy, airforce, etc. made to keep our country free and helped the allies in Europe. There's a monument by the post office where they'll be laying wreaths and having a short service. This area was largely populated by the Mennonites who are conscientous objectors so it's usually low key but with the demographics changing so are the people's feelings.
