Hi all, It is still hot, and we have broken every record for 100+ temps this year. The one record we haven't broken was 118 in 1980. It is now at 88 days for 100 degree days, and there is no change for the next 7 days..It was 108 today, and It is miserable. If we don't have rain soon, I think we might lose all our shrubs and flowers. We had a water bill of $150 this month, just trying to keep things alive...I told Bob that those 12 squash were pretty expensive. We had 12 tomato plants, but only have 4 now, and no tomatoes..maybe we will have a fall crop if we can keep them alive...Our Hotter Than Hell Bike Ride is this Saturday, and this year it looks like it will live up to it's name, as they are saying 108 for Saturday...I think they are crazy, but there were 14,000 riders last year....We have had less than an inch of rain so far this year. Now would be a good time to remove all the dead plants, but the ground is so hard that you would have to soak it just to pull them up. The last drought of this magnatude was in 1958. Since we can't get out in this heat, I think I am about to go "stir crazy"....Ann
