When my 2 kids were in college we all drove Pintos. I told the salesman I didn't care about color but didn't want a car with the small Pony carburator. That was one ugly car - green on the outside and orangish upholstery. It was a bargain though.

I need to gain about ten pounds and suddenly I no longer want chocolate. I ate a miniature Hershey bar after chewing a vile pill and now chocolate turns me off.

Due to the Westboro hateful people, obituaries of many military people here are not printed until the last day. It is sad because it does cut down on attendance of friends.

I met an appriaser this morning at our local warehouse estate sale. For $8 she will appraise a figurine from a picture. Some other people were bringing in pictures of furniture for a $20 appraisal. If she comes to your home for an hour it is $350. I have an interesting figurine for appraisal.

It was cold last night but it is hot now. I just turned the AC on for a little while.

One day when I was driving home from Edwards AFB, I saw a truck in the distance coming toward me pulling a long trailer. He turned into his long dirt driveway and didn't notice that the trailer was detached and blocking the entire road. He drove a few hundred feet and then started backing up to retrieve it.

Bob. The aloha shirt stamps will be timely in San Marcos CA. A county auditor had a side business of importing phony Tommy Bahama shirts from China. His girlfriend called in a domestic dispute and the cops wondered what all the shirts and packages were for. The guy even asked one of his coworkers to take delivery since he was limited in what he could import. He sold the shirts at swap meets etc. Now he is in jail.

I'm a little late on the Olivia Newton John story. Her boyfriend disappeared from a fishing boat in San Pedro. I have been on that fishing boat and it would be pretty hard to fall overboard without someone noticing. I think he just got off the boat when it docked and disappeared from there. We had our 30 foot Catalina sailboat in a nearby slip. It was good that he was OK but bad that he caused so much worry.

Marty, your windsurfer is interesting. When we sailed our Catalina 30 we saw many windsurfers. We even rescued one in Hurricane Alley (San Pedro CA) harbor. He was exhausted from the heavy wind. We tied his board to the back of our boat. He refused to come on board and I was really watching him as he inhaled diesel fumes. We got him as close to the beach as we could and asked a guy on a Kawasaki to watch him.

I am happy that no one found anything interesting during digging for my pool. I just wanted it finished quickly so I could swim.

Yesterday I told about a robber who got caught because he stole an iPad and it secretly told its location. I learned that the police have an app that asks where are you? for a specific iPad and they get the location that way.

A man in the Los Angeles area awakened because a burgler was downstairs. He gave chase but the guy got away. Later the stolen iPad secretly broadcast its location! The burgler lived close by. The police retrieved his iPad and other belongings and a lot of other stolen stuff. One hundred miles away in Vista, California a young mother got a call that her stolen TV and Christmas presents had been found. $20,000 bail doesn't seem enough for this guy.

Thanks for all the birthday greetings! My son and daughter in law came from Lancaster CA, friend Frank came from across the street and my daughter fixed a great dinner with beautiful cake and beautiful decorations. We had fun!

It's Harry that is in Gila Bend with the helicopters. He has been partying in San Diego on the weekends.

I didn't have the TV on at 11:00 am this morning when the Emergency test occurred. I record the 11:00 am news on my DVR and saw the test later. It did mess up the recording so I did not get more than two minutes of news.

On facebook there is a doggie DNA site. I complained that Corky's DNA test showed that he is a Great Pyrenes Dachsund mix when he seems to obviously be a Corgi Chiquaqua. Today I had a call from the DNA test group asking my permission to rerun his results. Fine with me as long as they don't need another blood draw. Of
course now they know he is mainly Corgi and Chiquaqua.

Gayle, the other night Jennifer Esposito was on the Dave Letterman show discussing gluten-free products. She plays a policewoman on Blue Blood. She said she baked some great gluten-free muffins.
