Actually, I like it myself...IF I had a set of china, I might want THIS particular set....I think it is beautiful! But since I have just the one plate, and I certainly do NOT need to start yet another collection of something, I will try to sell it. Thanks again....Suzy

A quick pottery ID question....does anyone recognize this E on the bottom of this piece? I've never seen it before and I don't know much about pottery...it looks like possibly an English piece? Talk about a mysterious makers mark though....could they have made it any more difficult for the folks of the future to figure out?!...lol. Tough to get a good photo of it, but hopefully that one works well enough to see. Thanks in advance for any help! Suzy

Hi Amber and all potties! Yes I am extra lucky as Gail and I only live 1 1/2 hours from each other so we have actually gone shopping together....and it is a joy every time I get to spend time with her! She is hard to keep up with but I try...lol. Nice meeting you too and will see you on the boards! Suzy

Yes Amber, Shelly IS great! The glassies and potties have to fight over equal time with her!...lol. And Gail is being quite modest as she knows ALOT about alot of stuff....ESPECIALLY glass! She is quite the whiz and ID's items faster than you can refresh the post sometimes, so if you ever need help with glass ID come on over and ask....I am one of the ones that knows nothing...as I am still learning, but you'll see some great pics of some awesome glass on any given day. Suzy

Gayle/Lois: Perhaps I should have said climbs the fence and jumps over...lol. It's just a 6' privacy fence but he loves to sneak over it, go around the front, and hit the door handle to come in. He thinks he is just the smartest cat ever as he can open all the doors in the house....with the push down handles....and just saunter into the room. He's a little brat...but we love him of course! Well off the bed for me..Goodnight all...Suzy

Hi Gail! 🙂

Chris: Thank you...we are happy he survived it! Yes I believe the horrible heat we had this year must have contributed to that fact. Not lovin' the extra critter population....makes me look forward to winter when ALL the critters are hibernating...lol. Oddly enough though, we hardly had any flies on our patio and none in the house...which was wonderful as I absolutely HATE flies! It was just an odd summer all around I guess.

whodat/Susan: Yep I am in Oklahoma. We think he got bit when he was playing with some other bugs in the grass one evening...we let him outside on a supervised basis, as the little bugger will jump the fence if we're not watching...lol. About a week after he got bit though, we did find one in the house, and 2 in the garage...EEEEEKKK! So we bombed the garage and think we got 'em. They scare the heck outta me! And speaking of eeeekkk and "running the rats", we had a small rat in our yard two days in a row. BF uhhhh sent the first one to rat heaven but the second one, although I do NOT love mice or rats, was so cute running around the yard, scared to heck 'cause Rocky was first playing with him, but Rocky didn't know what to do with him except chase him, so I said to BF awwww he's so cute, just throw him back over the fence. I guess it was too hot this summer for the snakes so instead we got the rats...which, if I had to choose, I would surely take over the snakes!!
Amber: Yes I know so little about pottery so I'm happy to have found some knowledgeable folks here...'cause I need help!....lol

Shelly: If you go the auction route I sure hope you would get better prices for your treasures than some of the auction prices around here lately....or you'd just be sick! I guess, just like on ebay, collectibles just aren't bringing the good prices in anywhere right now. You might want to wait awhile and see if it gets any better anytime soon.

Gayle: That's Rocky, my big ol' Maine Coon kitty (3 years old). He is bigger than he looks in the pic...he weighs 18 lbs. and he's lonnnngggg...lol. He recently got bit by a brown recluse spider and we almost lost him. We would have missed him alot....he's quite a character!

I am so glad to have this place to come for my pottery questions...seems very friendly and casual. Thanks once again to webmaster Curt!

Hello all...I posted this on the ebay chat but thought I'd try it here also:

I have an ID request...if anyone might know who made this planter or possibly an age range for this kind of piece...of course no mark on the bottom but thought someone might know from a pic. It measures 5 1/2" tall and approx. 7" wide, and is heavy at a little over 2 lbs. Any help greatly appreciated...TIA, Suzy
