Gordon, what an interesting history it has. Did not know about the WW2 pacific sweep. Or I have forgotten that also. Know I would not last more than a few days lost in any wilderness. Just not a suvivorlist , but I can still start a good fire from scratch. Laughing...I won't freeze, just starve. Friend I go gem hunting with does go into places for three weeks at a time and camps in wilderness areas. His favorite places are Montana, Wyoming and Utah. Plenty of places to get lost. Never has though.
Well all still very cold here. Going to my first yoga for seniors class. See if I can stretch these muscles out a bit. Might check out a thrift store or two on the way home. Not use to so much time on my hands. The good part is I have gotten all the little things I have neglected, some for years, taken care of and that feels good.
Time for coffe and to watch the news. Cathy
