Hi everyone. Taking a break while doing some searches here.
Gayle, if you think summer is almost over, come visit Az. LOL We still have 2 more months of it here. (maybe longer) We did finally get some rain but think it was too late for some yards and crops. This past week we've had cooler (90's) temps but the humidity has just about wore me down. Not sure it's not as bad as having 110 temps....:o)
Finally went through a few bins from the shed and got a few items listed on ebay today. Have pics taken so can do 8-10 more tomorrow. I need to get back into selling because when it does cool down here I have a lot I want to do outside.

Hi everyone. Tought I'ld take a quick break and stop in. Hope you're all well and staying cool. Been one really HOT summer here and we broke all kinds of records. The older I get the harder it is on me. Trying to stay in a lot and can't wait for fall...:o) I see that the whole country has had a bad summer! Glitz, your trays may be silver-plated. If they were sterling they'ld be marked such or 925. As for design..... on sterling it's called chased and a lot is hand chased meaning done by hand. Wish we could get a look at them.

Nancy, I did see that paypal did a refund of fees when I refunded the money but still don't know if ebay does it automatically.
Janice, yes I do know the ebay rules but tried to add a $2.00 handling fee to the invoice but it wouldn't let me do it. Told the buyer they owed $2 more then the invoice showed but they didn't pay it either. It's done and over with now so just need to change the fees when I list next time. The box looked like someone stepped on it (crushed) and it was packed good.

Been really busy this past month so didn't have much time to post. Hope you're all doing well.
I have a problem and maybe someone here can help me. I sold a old pottery vase and there was no insurance on the package. Tried to add it to the invoice but ebay wouldn't let me for some reason. Anyway it arrived broken and I just issued a refund. Need to know how to get my ebay fees back now? It wasn't real expensive but don't want ebay to get more then they should and it was a total lost (23.50) to me anyway.

My back has been giving mwe lots of pain and seems to hurt worst when I sit here trying to type so will have to get off for now. Maybe since company is gone I'll be able to get back here to chat soon.

Planning a YS next weekend and really not looking forward to it since the weather will most likely be HOT.....:o)

Katie, I don't like that worthpoint site. They always have the items but you need to sign up for the final price. And then I'm sure your info gets sold to other sites. And what it sells for there depends on how and where it was listed. Things sell for different amounts depending on if it was sold at what auction house and what part of the country it was sold in. JMO

Katie, have you checked replacements for that set? They do buy if they need some pieces but about 1/2 price. Very pretty set. I like it but would break or chip a piece every time I used it. Good luck with it.

Hi everyone. Just finished mowing the front yard. Back can wait a couple of days still. Seems we're always trimming and mowing here in the summer.Went for MRI yesterday and Dr. will call when he gets results. Hoping they can do something for this pain without surgery.

Been a busy day here but seems like I still need a few more hours. Did 5 loads of clothes, went to the PO (it was a zoo), stopped at a YS, took 50 pictures and listed a bunch. Well, went to upload all the pics and they all turned out terrible so redid 34. Daug. came over with some stuff to list and told me to keep the money for part of her sis' ticket that I paid for. That was real nice of her but I need to list more tomorrow then. Just got paid for the last auction so all are paid for now. Good feeling!!!
Nancy, daug. loves doing YS but her hubby doesn't so it will be a treat for her. I'm spliting the money with her so she'll have some extra spending money since she'll be here a month. GD can sell lemonaide, pop and water and make some for herself also.....O)
I still haven't finished putting the clothes away so guess I better get at that now.

Hi Nancy, daug & GD from Denver and other GD from Washington. And yes all of them are load and stay up until all hours of the night. My house isn't big enough for all at once so other daugs. will be getting them part time. LOL I'm sure s-i-l will surprise us for a weeks stay too. Going to have a YS the first week so daug. will have some extra spending money while here for the month. I know I'll be a wreck while they're here but like you said "we love it"..:o)

Good morning to every pottie. Going to be another hot day here. Had 109 on Thursday and 111 yesterday so summer heat is really here way too soon. Will be doing things inside for 4-5 months now except for when we really need to head outside. I try to do anything outside before noon. Daug and GD will be here in a week and can't wait. It's been 3 years. Other GD and boyfriend will be coming at the end of June. Not sure I can take all the company we've had the past couple of months but I love to see them come.
Talking about animals getting out..... Well, we've never had one do that until the other night. Dogs were outside and we're in watching TV. Neighbor knocks on the door and has one dog on a leash. She had opened the gate and went out following 2 ladies walking their dogs when neighbor saw her and called her. She loves him so went right over and he put the leash on her and said she looked at him like "are you taking me for a walk". LOL Now we have to lock the gate but she never has done that before. And she's the one that gets really mad when anyone comes near our yard.
Susan, you sound like someone that would like to take all the cats home with you...:o) I'm sure you'll fine another that you can keep if the red one doesn't show up at the shelter.

Good morning. Running by before I start listing today since it's the last day of the month. Sold 2 maps yesterday with BIN so I feel I need to list more. Not that they'll sell as fast. LOL

I haven't been around much due to company and not listing so have no idea what was or wasn't said. I think everyone on this board is friendly and enjoy posting and reading when I have time. As for pottery talk.........it's not selling that good and this isn't the ebay board so don't think pottery needs to be the focus. Sometimes things are taken the wrong way also so we all need to remember that when posting.

What happened to Amber? Geez, hope she's OK. I've left the hospital before when Dr. said I shouldn't but hope she is OK. Said a little prayer! So glad she has a friend like you Shelly because you two seem to watch over each other.

Nancy, sounds like a good thing finding that book. Daug. keeps telling me to list books on Amazon but I hate starting anything new. When the kids are gone you'll have plenty of time for listing. I agree that it's too hard to do with others around needing your attention.
I found some old maps in the shed last week and listed 3 today. Put a BIN on them for $49.99 and already sold one so that makes me happy..:o)
I've gotton 5 calls today of political recordings. Wish I could stop them somehow. I do have caller ID but if I don't pick the phone up I have to listen to it ring 7 times before the machine picks it up. Gets me POed when I'm trying to rest too.
Susan, glad to hear Buzzy is back were he belongs. Sometimes the animals just need to roam some and then they remember were their love comes from. LOL

Thanks to all the service men and women who gave soooooo much so I can enjoy my freedom. Also the animals who have been so loyal. I have 3 flags flying but usually do about 10.

Shelly, I hope things are going good in your recovery. My Dr. said the same thing last week about the MRI. "Tell me when you're ready" and I said "now". I would hate to think of surgery but hoping maybe some shots and other treatment. Just want to know what it is.
Nancy, nice picture and yes some did help save us and our service peeps. How are your sales going? Are you done with babysitting for the summer now?

Yep, had to start listing again. Did a bunch today. I can't get out much so just going through things here I don't need anymore. My back or knees are the problem. Going for a MRI on the back in a week. Not that I'll let them do any surgery! Maybe some shots. Hubby has been working on a new front door. He can never just put up what we buy. Built a new door frame and trimed it out in oak but he made lines in the wood instead of just plain boards. It's beautiful! I was looking for the house paint but think I'll need to get more since I can't find the right color here. 15 gals of new paint but not just the right color....:o)

Good morning. Going to only be in the 80's today so I need to head outside and enjoy this weather. Back into the 100's next week. The fires in Az. have clamed down a bit so peeps got to go back into their homes yesterday. 7 homes burned to the ground so some will be rebuilding...:o(

Nancy, I think the boxes were checked from the old auction I was working off of. Got it figured out. Need to do more auction listings today. Went into the shed yesterday and dug out stuff that has been packed since we moved here 6 years ago. LOL Forgot about some of it and no room here to display it so out it goes. Ebay or YS.
Daug. and Gdaug are coming on the 11th. for a month. Going to have a sale so they will have some extra spending money while they're here. It's been 3 years so can't wait to see them.

Susan, cats are funny and indpendent. I had one go missing for 4 years and one day came home to eat and head back out. Never did see him again but he looked good when he returned so figured he found a new home. Hope yours are OK.

I see Shelly has had her surgery and doing good so happy to read that.

I haven't listed on ebay for a month and have a question. We were getting the first 50 auctions a month free then. I went to list today and ebay was charging me $1.10 for a $9.99 auction with only 2 pics. so I canceled the auction. Is there some new rules I've missed? I went to ebay but see nothing about new charges. I know some still sell there so hope someone can help me.

Shelly, in Arizona we can carry a gun anywhere and also don't need a concealed permit but not all homes have guns. I think there is a town in Texas were every home has a gun and they're crime is way down because of it. Hope your surgery goes well and I'll be sending good thoughts your way.
Finished with the heart tests but need to go back on the 1st. for results. I'm getting tried of Drs. already. Seems a visit always ends up with 3=4 visits.....:o(
Amber, I've been usinf icey hot but will try the formula 88 when I get back to the store. Also use Osto-Biflex for the joints. Probably wouldn't be able to walk without it anymore. My knees are getting worst every day.
Have cousin coming to visit this next week so hope I can find some time to list. trying to save up enough to send for daug. and g-daug. this summer. Hope they'll be able to stay a month.

Shelly, it's a decorative pot. You could put a potted plant in it. You never said how tall these were. The ashtray is so small I would think the shorter one held the cigerettes. Hope that helps.

Shelly, darling set but I don't think it's wedgewood but the insert is done in the wedgewood style. I think it may be made in Japan. Also the ashtray, small cig. holder and maybe a matching planter. Wonder if a 4" plant would fit into it. Pretty set.
Went to the heart Dr. yesterday and now I have 3 more visits. Friday a study on my legs to see if it's the heart or dibeates causing the numbness. Next week 2 more heart tests. Told hubby I would end up having to go back which doesn't make me happy.
Shelly, when is your surgery? Hope it goes well and you'll be running in no time.

Nancy, are the big white ones for me. LOL I did a simple pineapple upside down cake but none got eatten so brought it back home with us. Had to many desserts and everyone was too full to eat them.
Been busy this am cleaning out my closet. Took out 125+ pieces of clothes and 25+ pairs of shoes. To the YS and what doesn't sell can go somewhere else.....:o) Was trying to work my blood sugar down and it did go down 50 points so I guess that's good. I'm really tired now though.

Hi everyone! Been MIA since company and running around last week. Finally got my unsatified bidder taken care of after 2 weeks and almost a total of 3 hours on the phone with ebay and paypal. Boy, that was a mess. Seems you have to talk to the peeps in India first and then they keep switching you to others before you really get someone at ebay. Then the guy didn't do it right so good thing I called them back today and they fixed everything while I was on the phone with them. I have my (I think) item back, he has his money back and hope everyone is happy. Hope I don't have to do that again. So decided to list and my pics wouldn't upload so think I'll do that tomorrow.

Hi everyone. Been busy here with company so haven't stopped by much.

Katie, happy to know your B-I-L is not in pain and resting peacefully. Stay strong for your family, you will all get through this hurddle.
I see you all talking about babies at a older age. LOL I was born when my Mom was 44 but remember I was the last of 8. Hubby's Dad was 54 when he was born but Mom was 25 yrs. younger. As for me, I had my last at 28 and felt that was older then I wanted to be. LOL Love my g-kids but so nice when they leave for their own house. I'm with Nancy on that one.
Had 2 NPB so filed claims and 1 has paid already...:o) Still haven't received the item back that they're holding my money on. It was mailed on the 11th. and they filed the claim on the 20th, so who knows how long it will be held up.
Bro and S-I-L are leaving in the am so we're all going out to Black Angus for dinner. Guess I better get going here.

I still haven't got the item returned to me so the money still is being held. Sold on 3-10 and mailed on 3-11. I'm upset because ebay is holding the full amount for both auctions and not just the one . They're collecting interest on my money daily and giving 14 days to return it is a long time since they want us to mail it within 1 day...O( I'm not listing until it's reslolved. Will call them again on Friday if I don't have it settled by then.

Amber, did you find the camera or give up on it? What kind did you order to replace the lost one? Mine sits right at the computer or I'm sure I'd misplace it also.
Shelly, have you used your Sony you bought yet? I still have mine and even have the external drive but never tried hooking that up. Matter of fact I think I have 3 or 4 cameras here somewhere. Should ebay them.
Still haven't received my item back from the unhappy buyer. Wonder if there's a time limit on returning things? Sure would like to move on. Told ebay I'm not listing until this gets settled since they're holding $88.?? from my paypal account...:o(

I have a question about postage. I want to send a package so can I print my label on line and charge the shipping to paypal? This wasn't a ebay transaction so not sure how to do it.
Amber, yes, there are great deals on QVC but I shop sales and yard sales so if it's something I want and am not in a hurry I know one day I'll come across what I want. My Dyson was used maybe 3 times (never emptied) and I got it with the box and all the attachments for a mere $15 at a sale. Was the first one to walk through the door and the landlord was selling all the stuff for the back rent. My mistake that day was not saying I would take everything. LOL Spent over $500 at that sale and got some really great things....:o) My dyson fan was bough from a dealer for $20 in the box. I see they have come down in price now at Costco for $198.00. My S-I-L buys a lot on QVC but she doesn't get out much so it works for her.

Amber hubby is doing fine. Still doesn't think he can see as good as he wants but not totally healed yet. He can legally drive without glasses now.
I could never live where the gators run free. LOL I watch swap people and that's as close as I want to get. I understand they can run really fast and I'm a slow poke at this age.
Going to neices for dinner today so I'm making a berry trifle for 1 desert. We'll have 2 other deserts also. Bro and S-I-L are here from Illinois and heading to the Grand canyon tomorrow. Then dinner out on Thursday and Friday they leave. Sure didn't get to see them much this trip...:o(
Amber, I think QVC is a rip off most of the time. I know you can get some good deals but I shop deals so can usually beat their prices. JMO Sorry about you losing the camera. I've thrown things away before too. Once tossed a purse in the trash. Well after the trash was picked up I remembered where my gold chain was........ in the purse I tossed.......O(

Hubby had his eye surgery yesterday. Heading to the Dr. this am. Says he can see but everythings blurry. Hope that's normal. He was very nervous and that made me nervous so today I feel like I've been beat up.

Good morning. Well, I have a unhappy bidder that has opened a dispute with ebay....:o( I myself think it's buyer remorse but paypal has frose my paypal payment until it's resolved. Since the person bought 2 items paypal has frozen the money for both items. I wonder how long it's going to take to get this straightened out?

Oh, we also have had rain most of the day. Temps dropped 20 degrees from 2 days ago. First rain for months and even some hail mixed in. Brother and S-I-L are going to the grand canyon this week and they've had a foot of snow so far today. Hope they're bringing some warm clothes.

Had to go across town to pick up my B-I-L's car so brother can use it when he gets in. B-I-L has been in the hospital for 4 days and they still don't know what's wrong. He passed out on Wendsday and ambulance took him to the hospital. his back is hurting him so bad they're keeping him pretty much knocked out. I couldn't go back to see him today because I couldn't stand watching him in pain the other day. This guy is like a dad to me and he's always been the strong one in the family. I'm praying he gets better...:o(

Went to some sales while going to the other end of town. Sorry I didn't buy a purse i saw but it was $25 and I couldn't see spending that on a used bag. Now I'm sorry I didn't ask if she'ld take less....:o( Did get a set of desert rose ashtrays, couple of silver rings, 2 painted ponys, statue of Mary and a angel statue. Also got about 25 DVD;s. All for resale. There was at least a sale on every corner (for 3 miles) close to B-I-L's place but we couldn't keep stopping so just passed them by.

Hubby is not sure about getting his other eye done. he thinks the one he got done should be better then it is..:o( Heck, he was almost blind in it and can see without the lens in his glasses now. But night time he still see's the street lights oval looking. i told him it's his decision.

I'm having trouble with tinypic latey. It won't put the code up so I can copy and paste. I never signed up so I may need to do that.

Think I'll do my relists tomorrow since I haven't had time to do anything else lately. hope you all have a great evening.

Bob, wish we could get some rain here. We need it sooooooo bad. I think the last time we got any that measurered was Dec.18. The grass and trees are showing the dry also. Good thing the irrigation will start next month. We should of got it this month but something was stuck in the pipe so they turned it off until that gets fixed.

I'm not going saling today. Decided I need to get rid of more here first. I do need to go to the florist with neighbor. Need to pick up greens and flowers to make a funeral spray. Too late to order one so I told them I'ld make one. I know I can do it and it'll be much cheaper then the florists charge. And I'll love doing it....:o)

Happy with my miners lamps auctions so far. Wondering if I'll have a barn burner on the one since it has 17 watchers and over 100 lookers. Guess, they are not a common find.

Bob, how wonderful to get some chilhood memories back. I don't have but a handful of pics from when I was small. Being the last of 8 kids may have something to do with that. LOL I have memories but not many pics.

Hi Chris, good to read you here. Dr. siad everything looks OK. Hubby says he can see things better already. Has the other one done in a couple of weeks. he's still nervous about the other one since it's his good eye. The one he had done was a lazy eye all his life and he was almost blind in it so he's happy to be able to see out of it now.

Nancy, sorry you didn't get the line put in. Seems they would of knwn on their records that you needed a line from the pole and one wasn't there. No, one hand never knows what the other hand is doing. LOL and I have frozen some of Costco's stuff before since there's just the 2 of us here. I have some apple turnovers in the frezzer right now. When I go on sample days I leave there full. If no samples I like always get a slice of pizza or a hot dog. Where else can you buy 2 all beef hot dogs and 2 cokes for $3.00? I love it!!!

We have a bakery across town that has the best pasteries. B-I-L brings some every time he comes over. But I think Costco has some pretty good pasteries too. You gals probably have better were you live. I know in Chicago they have some wonderful bakeries.
Amber, you'll love doing cakes now that they have the fondent that gets rolled out. All my cakes had buttercream frosting with frosting flowers. I always had them in sections to deliever them and set them up at the wedding recepition myself. Today they have made things much easier and I think prettier. JMO

Susan, sorry you had to deal with a bad installer. Hope todays will go smooth for you. Hubby had it out with one once. Wanted to drill a hole in the wall because it was easier for him. Hubby ended up running the wire in the attic and the installer came back and hooked it up. They don't go in attics. When they used to go in attics hubby made lots of extra money repairing the holes in the ceilings from the installers falling through. LOL

Marty, your tumble up should do good if you got it for a low price.

Already got the new dust ruffle and comforter on the bed. Now I need to get the shower curtains done. And my silk plants are dusty as get out so outside they go for a bath.

Well, got the curtains finally hung, washed and ironed the old ones. Tomorrow maybe I can put the new dust ruffle and comforter on the bed. Then need to get the bathroom curtains wshed and ironed and put back up. Shelly, no I don't have the engery but it needs to be done since I'll be busy this month.

Glad to know that Dan wasn't near the tornados. Geez, those poor peeps. Did you hear about the baby that was found 10 miles from her home? The rest of the family didn't make it but it must of picked her up and took her away from the destruction. Her name is Angel.....:o) One time going through something like that would have me moving far away. But there are peeps that build homes in flood areas and keep rebuilding.

Amber, rhinestones have a gold foil backing on them. Real stones have no backing. The earrings don't look like real good quality to me since the stones aren't even prong set. Not cutting down but just giving some knowledge I do know. I hadn't seen the backs until yestereday. I've sold real and costume for over 30 years now. JMO
