• Good morning to all.

What a mess I seem to have caused. Thank all of you for thinking and being so concerned. My computer just gave up on me and finally got repairman in after the hurricane, Ended up being wiring on outside of house. Plus just could not find my outlook express password, so fellow changed me over to Goggle and was able to save my e-mail, all 1890 of them.

Guess my biggest worry had been not having a generator. Had used my last cylinder of oxygen when power was restored about 10:p.m. Small carry oxygen could be charged using car, only had to watch the gas gauge. If you found a station open the lines were over 2 hrs.

Katie, hope Mike is getting around a little better and the pain is easing. Way to go finding things to sell.

Marson, it's been over 4 yrs. since I lost my husband and I still come across something that brings back memories. Take care and don't do to much shoveling.

Gordon, sorry to hear you lost your friend. Please find the time to check in.

Shelly, Terry certainly has a nice voice on the phone. I never thought to leave my phone number. Glad to hear Danny got his portable oxygen and GA. son doing well. Now to get you out and running again Just type in a persons name and if you have the city and state the information will come up on computer i got a CC tablet phone. After having temper fits I gave up and ordered a jitterbug flip top. The tablet kept getting me into airplane phoning. Wonderful Jitterbug came with a great instruction book..

I am still grinning about the reaction I got when I called Susan. I said "this is Maxine " No answer, so I said Max from the pottery chat room, I heard a gasp and Susan told me my obit. had been posted. I'll bet those are odds that even Vegas couldn't come up with.

Our libraries are still trying to open. I think I donated enough paperbacks to keep one thrift going a long time. Our bank close to us took a hard hit. Winn-Dixie had just finished a remodeling job, and roof took a hit with leaks everywhere. Our one Good Will took a major hit.

Thanks Susan and Shelly for helping me get back on board. After this long post you may regret that!!!

    Take care of yourselves.

    Max

  • Marson, so sorry for your loss.

  • Good morning.

May we never forget the loved ones that gave their lives to keep our Country free.

Vey little going on here. Don't know exactly what hit me. Sure haven't done much but sleep.

Katie a little late but Happy Birthday.

  • Good morning, another hot day coming up. Still hoping for rain.

Gordon thanks for always answering my questions. Currency. Watching the hearing on TV about UFO files.

Got out and saw the lunar eclipse, the moon looked so small. Full moon now and it was so bright I thought I had left outside light on again.

  • Good evening.

Katie fancy butter knives. Thanks for the pictures. It gets so humid in afternoons here, I hurry to get to stores and errands done very early.

Susan I no longer collect the butter knives. Sold last in one package. I wish I could get rid of my tealeaf ironstone collection. The large pitchers sold well. Had to think about the body found in Lake Mead. Wonder if they will check to see if Jimmy Hoffa? Our front page paper had headline that woman was found in septic tank (dead). I guess they sometimes covered the tank with wooden planks and would cave in if stepped on. One fellow told about watching neighbor mowing his yard and all at once he disappeared into the ground. It pays to have insurance companies you can work with. Found a ground cover plant that really looks good in planters. Florida Friendly gold sedum rupestre Remember the color chartreuse, that is what color they look like.

Have a Winn Dixie store close to me and they had so many good sales for this week. So off I went, got there and they are in middle of a massive change inside. No aisle signs up yet to find things. They are really bad about offering the BOGO sales and always waiting for the trucks to deliver. Came back home with most of my grocery list.

Gordon I play the casino games on my computer. Surprised at how many are Australian. Do you use the pound system? There are doves in our yard here that do not look like the doves that showed up in Michigan. I think Bob said they were Australian doves. Small with very bright pink legs.

Shelly what kind of weather are you having. Those fronts are moving across the country so fast. John brought me some library books when he made his weekly stop. Really don't like reading library books as I have to snack on cookies and coffee while reading How do you like those new bedroom blinds? Hooked up my printer/scanner now need to get some ink for it. Haven't used it in 3/4 yrs..

    Hello Marson.

  • Good morning to everyone.

    Finally got 2 afternoon showers.

Susan good to hear that May is going to be a good month for you. One thing about it, sounds like you don't have to go far to find things to list in booths. If I can ever figure out this new phone I will (probably) be able to send pictures It has been so dry here going to take several soaking rainfalls. Did you get Kermit all patched up? When I went with United Healthcare insurance decided to use their mail order pharmacy. Supposed to ship every 3 months. I have 2 prescriptions I only take when needed, hard to make them understand I don't need them filled every 3 months. Think I have enough potassium pills to last for another year. At least they have people actually answering their phones and not automated systems.

Katie I always watched for butter knifes when out digging around. Haven't found any at the thrifts in a long time. We have a very nice consignment shop here. Went in and asked the young girl if they had any meat platters in the houseware department. Boy talk about telling my age, poor thing wasn't sure what a meat platter even was.

Shelly had to grin at people and their reaction to this mask thing. Everyone stared at people that weren't wearing their masks out in public. Now I notice people looking at me with my mask on. Has some of that warm weather finally gotten into your area? Do you have those Golden Corral "all you can eat" restaurants in your area? Ours is open, wonder how they handle people walking up to fill their plates. Our Gov. announced the huge growth expected from people moving to FL.

Gordon did you get that flu shot? The shingles shot has been the only shot I have ever had that actually bothered me. My arm felt like it was going to drop off the day after the shot. Do you see all those brightly colored birds year round? So many small birds come to my feeders that I got a book trying to identify some. Darn things jump around so much hard to get a good look at some of them. When the red headed woodpeckers show up, most scatter.

Marson are you thawing out and seeing signs of spring?

Interesting the things showing in Lake Mead as water levels at all time low.

  • Good morning.

    Happy Mothers Day.

  • Good afternoon,
May here and the weather still can't make up it's mind..

Got 2 planters for outside and need some more plants. Got what I had planted and got a little afternoon shower. Need something taller. May move some of the ferns that are growing so well after cutting them back. Doesn't look like the vining plant that looked so good on the wooden fence isn't going to make it. Maybe one small area will be OK. Just enough frost a couple of nights.

  • Good evening,

Katie haven't hear anything further about the birds here. Just told us not to handle them if found dead. I see so many places are saying do not feed them.

Susan I can not believe that car #14 driver walked away from that wreck Sunday. Quite a race. We got a short sprinkle this afternoon. Right now we are in red "high risk" fire danger. Some areas thinking about limiting watering yards.

Shelly has the rest of your bedroom furniture shown up? The grocery store had very little assortment of bread on the shelves. Half & half coffee creamer getting harder to find. Talked with friends in MI. yesterday and they were getting snow flakes. I am sure the ground is warm enough they won't see any accumulation.

    Hi to Gordon and Marson.

Dinner about ready so good night to all.

  • Good morning everyone.

Prayers and thoughts go out to all that need it. Difficult to try and make things go smoothly when your loved one is ill.

We are having hot summer weather in the afternoons. cools off at night.

For some reason there seems to be more birds this spring at our feeding station. Wonder if this long dry spell is keeping them from finding feed. Haven't seen any hawks for quite a while. So may be another reason they venture out. I chop up a carrot very small for the bunnies. Lots of young squirrels.

  • RAIN RAIN POURING RAIN

  • Good evening to everyone.

Sure hope the Easter Bunny has some nice weather to hide those eggs. Tried to find some chocolate covered marshmallow eggs, all sold out.

Katie glad you were able to get Mike some more therapy. Will he go twice a week? I like to watch the way some things are always something a collector is looking for. I always bought RR dishes when I could afford it. My friends use to make fun of me for going around and buying any coffee cups/mugs that had advertising on them. My coffee mug I use every day was made by Jackson and is somewhere around 80 yrs. old. Beautiful horse was this the one that was at your sister's? What did her name mean?

Marson you must have some big drifts around the doors about now! Do you have morels in the spring?

Susan we use to try to work puzzles on a card table. All at once parts were missing. We had a cat that would get up on the table and haul pieces away. Would find them in all her special hiding places. She also loved jewelry. Already have some green tomatoes on two of the tomato plants. It has started warming up at night so think they are safe. I am not one to give up on things easily...the new phone is just about get me to that point. So much on it I have not figured out and not sure there would ever be a reason I would use them if I did. Bob had me buy some extra ammo. and that was 4 yrs. ago and I got questioned then. Glad you were able to get Bear's taken care of. Northwood green carnival glass vase...I would probably just sit and look at that. Clearing out things are now at the hard decision making. to go or to keep.

Shelly I want to rent a car to go home (Ind.) my brother designed and built his house and would like to see what he did. Also feel guilty because haven't taken care of the graves for 5 yrs. Hoping things are going well for your son. My SIL had a lump on the side of his throat that all at once started getting larger. He had cancer in his tonsils and they did surgery having to go into some of his neck muscles. Had chemo They just found out a wk. ago he has 80% blockage in both sides of his neck. Will be unable to put in stents..

Gordon you have really enjoyed so many things that you have done over the years. I suppose you don't have room for many things now. Your photography is wonderful, you manage to capture movement and colors. Thanks for sharing. Hope your friend continues to heal and get around.

  • Good morning to all.

I see some of us are still having bad weather. We got a 15 minute downpour an already the grass is looking green. Next will be the lawn mower.

Why didn't someone mention how hard it is to try and set up those phone tablets. I have worked with blueprints and layouts, but never like trying to understand what they are trying to show me. I don't think I will ever have any use for most of the features they show me.

Susan sounds like you have been one busy lady. Got done in one day that would probably take a week for me. I called a couple of the rental car companies. Gave them their laugh for the day. There just isn't any cars for rent. Said to try back in early fall. Wouldn't even take my name, said a waste of time. Our county is under a burn ban. I keep watching the water temp. for the Gulf and it is way warmer then usual for this time of the year.

Finally pulled out all the paperwork I was trying to contact companies by phone. Sat down and wrote a form letter to all of them and explained I understood the shortage of help. Was not going to be on hold for over 50 minutes with no results. So mailed them every piece of information I thought they might want. Not quite sure why the insurance co. that cancelled me wants to have a copy of my new home insurance. It is no wonder our information gets out to scanners. I have never seen so many questions to fill out. Just waiting for a crook!

Fellow was here bright and early and installed 2 new springs. $430. so hoping those will last for a few years.

Katie and Shelly maybe this last batch of bad weather will miss both of you. Good to hear Marson is finally having some of that snow melt. Know it makes a muddy mess.

Gordon our paper this morning had an article that our county has a warning about bird flu. Seems they have tested some birds and found it. They say little chance dogs will contact it, a little higher chance for cats.

Keep your eyes to the sky.

  • Happy birthday Reen. Hope this finds you and Gil doing well.

Katie and Susan hope you have good luck with your DR. Lists.. No matter how I go over list i get home and think of something important. Wish there were more Dr.'s around that had COPD information.

My new phone has arrived. Maybe in a couple of weeks I will figure out just how all the things work on it. Will settle on just making calls and entering in personal phone numbers right now.

Supposed to get some bad storms tonight.

  • Good evening.

We got a 15 minute shower about midnight. Been a gloomy day but still no rain today.

Tried to watch the car races, just can't seem to get interested in them.

  • Good morning. Looks like we just might get some of that rain with thunderstorms. Really windy yesterday. Had to keep a close eye on the recycling and trash cans. Plus the one with yard trimmings and a paper bag we can use. We have the automatic loading for the cans and sometimes they get them a little to close to the street.

Our crazy weather maps have all the color coding for what is going on. Just when I get a color figured out , here comes another map with different colors.

Katie glad you are making the trip to see the Dr. How is your blood pressure?

Susan it looks like you are going to spend most of the weekend inside. All set for Wednesday for garage door, and going to replace both springs. I love the south, and don't like much west of the Mississippi. I'm from Indiana and that state is kind of divided. Depending what part you are living in. I keep getting calls from Medicare. They all come up scam. Have you ever ordered any plants from QVC? They have some really unusual plants. Never checked for hummingbirds.

Shelly I watched the Texas storage wars last night. Some horrible looking units but lots of good things tucked away. I tried to list some things in our paper yesterday. Their message was "due to shortage of help our options have changed." They were so confusing I gave up. Will check again today. If I tried to call I am sure it would be one of those wait and wait deals. To place a free ad it must contain 15 words or less. Want to list some depression glass and hard to limit to 15 words.

Gordon I will check with the installer when he comes Wed. about those springs breaking. Decided to get both done since with my luck the old one will break a little later. We open the big door half way and I wonder if that puts to much pressure on it when we leave it that way all day. Not sure if it is the weather or being close to the salt water. Things don't seem to last very long. Took the railing at the pool steps to be powder coated. It was all beat up. That should have lasted for years and I see rust coming on it.

Marson thought of you Wed. when I went grocery shopping. They had so many kinds of candy out for Easter. I managed to make it past all of it!

Had a great shopping day Wed. Went to bank and then grocery shopping. Left the oxygen in the car. Did just fine. Really hard for me to remember to slow down. I have always walked so fast.

    Happy birthday Trista Logue.

    Everyone take care.

  • Good afternoon.

Katie, did you find out what is causing the dizzy spells? Did you get a chance to speak with your DR.?

Hadn't posted in 4 days so needed to dig out my password. Sometimes I think people that use the same password for everything have the right idea. I make out a list of a few made-up passwords to use. Always surprised when I enter one and reply comes back in use.

Gordon this is second spring that has been replaced. Actually waiting to replace it. Out of stock and not sure when any will be back on shelves. I wonder if wear caused as we open the garage door about half way when out there cooking or reading. Have a nice cozy area. Service fellow very nice and gave me another Co. to try.

More phone games today. One Co. had a 54 minute waiting period. When I finally talked with them, they had to have paperwork sent to them. When I got this last computer I turned down having a fax machine with it. Dumb move, as almost all companies want fax and not e-mail. Then I ordered myself a new cell phone. The flip top one I now have I have problems with numbers sticking when I enter them. In fact all of my morning spent on the phone. After a long wait I got hold of our utility co. For some reason I hadn't gotten a March bill. They said it was mailed the 14th and they are one town over from me. So got the amount and mailed that out.

Susan glad you called at the right time and was able to speak with Bear. I was surprise when I read you didn't like Chicago. When I was a kid that was the big city we went to. Caught a train into Chicago, can you imagine doing that today? Looked at some big planters to start some tomato plants in. Garden fertilizer sure made a big jump in price. Wonder why the guy waited so long to bring a lawsuit against you? Probably figured other witnesses would be hard to find now. We are having those cool mornings but by noon it is in the eighties and wind comes up. Still no rain.

Shelly any news from your son? I miss going out to lunch with people I use to work with. There was a nice restaurant across the street from one place I worked. Last one across the road from airport and they had good sandwiches. Tracey went for groceries at WM yesterday and said it looked like all the prices had gone up in the grocery side. Gas has come down a few cents, don't know for how long.

Marson have you been able to get that door open? Be safe.

  • Good morning.

Katie wish we had just a little of your drizzle. Hope the buyer shows up for your items. I tried Craig's List a few time and people called but most never bothered to show up. Lots of yard and estate sales all at once. Our winter visitors like to check things out before heading back home. Since they added a sidewalk on opposite side of our street it has really limited any parking for having yard sales.

Shelly I see you are staying busy as usual. The spring on our garage door broke. The service fellow just left. Has no idea when parts will be available. So had to dig out our keys for the front door as we always go in and out using the garage door. Still waiting to see how much damage that couple of nights of frost had done to our shrubs and flowers. Not looking good. There is one big nursery close that is like walking in a park. I have a hard time looking at things at Home Depot. They have things inside and the humidity is very high and really makes it hard to breathe if staying long.

Susan from reading your last post I sure hope thing are going better for you. Know what you mean about stress. The deal with my insurance set me back. I was so surprised when my attorney told me to keep every scrap of paperwork that was issued to me when Bob was in the hospital the last time. Said to keep it for seven years. Said so many times bills would show up from specialists that looked at a patient in hospital and would be 2-3 yrs. after incident. Guess so many just toss the paperwork away. Are you getting any wind or rain from those tornados? Looks like New Orleans got hit hard again. They are still cleaning up from hurricanes. Doesn't look like the weather is going to calm down.

    Hello to Gordon and Marson.

  • Good morning.

Got most of the house vacuumed. Sure raises my pulse rate.

Muggy morning and looks and feels like rain.

Susan I need to remember with COPD stress can really set a person back. I got so upset about the cancellation of my home insurance. Ended up spending 2 days calling companies. Found one that actually had a office that spoke with customers. They were great about helping me and comparing my current policy to make sure I was able to understand some of their policies. We are abut 15 minutes from Ft. Myers Tracy got some unusual pansies for a planter. Deep purple, very small, with white ruffled edges. Irene lived in Ohio.

Katie glad to hear Boss is resting and doing better. Not sure I want to get another dog and get so attached to them. They sure are a lot of company.

Shelly I have to post here at least every 3 days or I have to go and enter my password all over. Do you wear your masks when you go out to eat? Not many home owned restaurants around here any more. I keep thinking about the popcorn shrimp from Red Lobster. Always a line there to be seated. Good to hear you had a nice time with your friends.

Marson just as I think your weather might be improving, I see more bad weather forecast.

Hi Gordon. I bet you are out photographing the wildlife.

First day of spring. Hope it is nice enough for everyone to enjoy.

  • Irene's daughter had posted that she had a heart attack.

Gordon, Irene and I joked back and forth about all the good biscuits and gravy we ate at Bob Evans. Our surrounding area here in Fl. is getting so crowded people are having a hard time finding a place to stay or rent. Glad you are back out there taking photographs again.

Katie I wasn't sure where you lived. There is an area around Gainesville, Fl. that has fog so bad sometimes it is like driving into a white sheet.

  • I remember Irene every time I see a Bob Evan's restaurant.

Sunny morning and has gotten up to 77. Starting to cloud up.

Decided I wasn't venturing out for groceries this week. So placed order to be delivered this afternoon. I think my diet is going to slip a little. Found some cookies on sale!

Katie do you live far from where they had that big highiway wreck.

  • Good morning.

Woke up at midnight with some very loud thunder. Never saw any lightning flashes. Got a little rain, anything helps. Yes the rain seems to stop in a line north of us in the Tampa area.

Our bluejays are very pretty and so loud. The cardinals are fun to watch. They always seem to come in pairs. Male comes right in but female stays back and very careful. The woodpeckers vary in color, have one huge one with bright red head. There are black birds that I think are starlings. The squirrels wont let them stay and feed. The doves are so careful and only come down to the ground to feed when they can stay away from rest of birds. The squirrels seem to like them. I have my first cup of coffee in mornings watching all the activity.

Susan does any trash removal company have the large containers they leave at house? The price is worth it if you have lots to remove. You sound like your driveway is a little tricky. Forgot to mention the mashed potatoes best with some bacon gravy and lots of black pepper. Had a bowl of cream of wheat for breakfast. Had gotten some peaches and they were actually very good. Had to let them ripen a little more. Is it this weekend the big race in Atlanta?

Gordon between the fires you had last year and the floods this year, crops and gardens must be struggling. Are the tourists starting to come back?

When our families were getting ready for the big gettogethers for the holidays and that sort of thing, there was one rule all of us learned very young. NO talk about politics or religion.

Shelly hopefully the weather will stay nice so you and friends can get out and enjoy some time out of the house. Found anything good for eBay sales? I have a set of milk glass dishes getting ready to box up for GW.

Katie do you sell on FB? I know quite a few that do well. EBay was so much fun when you could see who you were bidding against. Also made some good contacts for help and information.

Marson rain on top of that snow doesn't sound good. Maybe some of the drifts will start melting. Be safe.

  • Hello to all.

Yes, we got a downpour that lasted all of 5 minutes. High wind and temp. dropped. Got rid of any humidity. Sun managed to come out at the end of the day. Very cool so far today.

Great to see March basketball madness on TV this weekend.

Katie I got up one morning and stepped on the scales. I was up to 152 lbs. Was uncomfortable to even sit at table to eat. Mostly stood at counter. Made up my mind this had to end or I wouldn't be able to do anything for myself. Weighed this morning and down to 139, going for 135. My Dr. was worried about weight loss so steady and ran every known test on blood. All came back great but oxygen level. I dream of mashed potatoes, donuts & pie.

My letter from my insurance co. says notice of nonrenewal "Reduction of hurricane exposure" They want everyone to have roofs not over 10 yrs. old.

Shelly how are you today? Hope the wind and snow wasn't to bad for your area. Living by the Great Lakes a beautiful place, but rough going sometimes in the winter.

Everyone be safe out there. Gordon don't shop to often at that fancy gas station!! Were showing how much a trucker now has to pay to fill up their truck.

  • Good afternoon to all. Have been busy with this and that.

Still waiting for just a little rain. Panhandle of Fl. really had some bad brush fires.

Daughter came in last night looking in shocked. She had topped off her gas tank. Said first time she had ever paid $35. for 7 gal of gas. No telling what it is today.

Katie how are you feeling with your new medication? You can see people driving over 70 mph. with those little emergency tires on here on I-75.. Bet they had to have alignment job on car afterwards.

Susan I couldn't even get a cup of coffee poured without missing a blown tire on race last weekend. They say we are going to cool down a little here, looks like most rain will be north of us. I know all our grocery stores are showing bare aisles in pet food sections. Certain brands of bread getting harder to find. My refrigerator looks like it is ready to be replaced. Now they want to bundle things and I don't need a dishwasher or microwave. Would go with stove and refrigerator. The more I wait the higher prices go!!

Gordon I watch BBC Worldwide and they were showing the floods in your country. When is the last time something like this has happened? Can Sylvia put any weight on her foot with the missing toe? Our neighbor has had both of her big toes removed. Has a bit of a rolling gait when when she walks now.

Shelly I fell for the same thing with curtains. Cute kitchen curtains and I bought what I thought was 2 pr. Got them home and had one panel in each pkg. Went back and all sold out on the pattern. You may want to cover those daffodils from the looks of the weather map. Boy what a year this has been. We continue to have above normal readings. I had sent Reen a Christmas card with a note and had wondered how she was doing as she didn't respond.. Having chili and a salad for dinner

Our papers had been warning people that insurance companies were going to be cancelling home owners insurance. Got my notice Monday. So spent a day just researching and calling insurance companies. Been with this agency for over 23 yrs.

Marson hope that candy supply is holding up and you are doing OK.

    .

  • Hello to everyone. Hope everyone is tucked in and safe.

Made a pot of 16 bean soup. putting two large zip lock bags in freezer. Going to do veg. soup next week. Takes me all day when I do that.

Very hot out today. Still no rain in sight. I know many of you have plenty of rain.

Had a beautiful cardinal and his mate in yard yesterday morning. Finding I can use up the dry dog food if I take a hammer and smash it for the birds. We had a thrift store run by the animal shelter. They closed. They would accept opened bags of dog food.

Our new dog went back to the shelter. Just not going to work out as a house dog. Would never be able to leave him alone in a house. Told them at shelter to list him as no small children, one person owner, never without a leash outside. It is a no kill shelter and they have relisted him with all that.

Days of the little trailer courts are about gone here in this part of FL. Every time a hurricane hits and they stop them from relocating. People really take good care of their pets. I have only seen a couple of dogs running loose, and you could tell they were lost.

  • Good morning, fog this morning. Supposed to get up to 87 today.

Katie glad the procedure is over. Hope you got a good nights sleep. From the looks of your area you may not venture out today.

Carpets came out looking very good. Now for the bedrooms. My new Hoover vacuum is great but cord is so short. Have to keep unplugging and moving around. Makes it harder in bedrooms because some of plugins have dressers or desks in front of them.

Shelly I remember you saying son had a fire, thought it wasn't major. What are they doing, staying with relatives? Someone gave my FIL a pit bull young dog. When you went to their house the dog would get up in his lap and watch your every move. Never let Tracey go when I knew it was in the house.

    Be careful out there.

  • Good morning to all.

Looks like another week of changing weather. Beginning to think it has forgotten how to rain here.

Shelly and Marson I think the two of you are getting the worst of the weather right now. Katie I am surprised at the warmup for your area. Maybe you will be able to make that medical appointment soon.

Gordon I see your country is now open to travelers.

The shelter called daughter to ask if dog she had returned had stopped eating. They said he wouldn't eat and only get up to go out of pen to go to bathroom or get a drink of water. Couple took him home and brought him back, he wouldn't move around. So "sucker" daughter brought him home again. He has been running around like he is wild and certainly eating well.

What a price shock at Walmart. They have gone up and up on almost all their prices. Glad I have a very short grocery list for the week coming up.

Susan I think the freeze we had down here did more damage then first thought. I see so many yards with shrubs and trees being removed. Our vine that went all along fence isn't going to make it. Going to be hard cutting it out of the fence. Three of my friends have made plans and had to cancel them for a trip to Vegas. Tried to talk me into going. I hate to fly and checking my oxygen on and off would be a struggle. I really enjoyed watching the curling and snowboarding. I see the viewers way down this year. Sure couldn't say that about the NSCAR attendance

Shelly "Ms. Clean" up bright and early and she shampooed some of the carpet. I had gotten a new Hoover shampooer and really seems to do the job. I didn't know your son lost his house from a fire. Is this the one that lives in GA.? Hope you are enjoying the finished bathroom and bedroom. I look at beef roast and not worth the price.

Watching the news right now probably not good for our B/P.. .

  • Happy Birthday Susan.

  • Happy Valentines Day

Remember the excitement of the teacher opening the Valentine box and passing out the valentines.

  • Good morning. A little rain n the night.

Sorry to hear about all the problems with so many. Certainly hope only a scare to get Sylvia to stay off her foot. Falls seem to be showing up with all the ice and blowing wind. Katie you are lucky they find you advance appointment so quick. Gordon now how long do you wait for second procedure? Could you see to drive home from first? I sit in parking lot for about an hr. waiting for drops to clear up.

Interesting trip grocery shopping. With the exception of a few boxes all the frozen dinners were gone. So many frozen pizzas they could hardly close the doors. Guess they are planning on Super Bowl to sell them.

Olympics sure keep a person up late. Amazing watching the snowboarding. Will have to switch over for the Super Bowl this afternoon.

Do any of you read the news on the computer? I always read all of it, but they are now blocking most of papers until you subscribe to them.

Take care and we are one day closer to spring. Actually getting daylight a little earlier each day.

  • Good morning to all. Maybe this week will start a warming trend and get rid of ice and some snow.

Katie good to hear the newest member of your family has arrived.

Susan I sure enjoyed the NASCAR races held at the L.A. coliseum. It looked like some tricky driving was required. Bush kind of lost steam right at the end.

Our new dog is going back to the shelter. A hard decision to make but some very disturbing things started to show up. Chewed the corner of my chair, tried to chew up back seat of car. Will not stop trying to chase anything that moves. No matter what name we try to use, he doesn't respond to any of them. Called the shelter to make sure we had correct name on his paperwork. Our vet said he is mostly pit-bull with terrier

Was cloudy all day yesterday but never got a drop of rain. Sunny but cool this morning.

    .

  • Good afternoon. Made it up to 82 yesterday. Not quite as warm today, looks and feels like rain. We sure need some.

Marson you always cheer me up when you post. Sounds like you just take life as it comes and make the best of everything. Stay safe and watch out for that ice.

Katie did you manage to get a new date for your surgery? What a scare with your dog taking off in such bad weather. Daughter brought home the new dog, and we are being very careful about doors and screens, Sounds like your bad weather not over yet.

Shelly have never seen a Iguana around here. Guess they fall and as soon as the temp. goes up a little they get up. People say they are very messy and make a mess on their docks and dig around in yards. I know some get rather large. Sounds great that you are finally making some progress on the construction around the house.

Susan you must not know what to do with all the Christmas gifts finally gone. A cat can make a person crazy. They just sit out of reach and smirk at us. We had one that would sit and groom herself and watch to see if she could think of anything else to do to upset us. I can see you already have plans to fill in all the empty spaces! Bear had the right idea, when a person can't take care of their own, they shouldn't expect handouts later in life.

Gordon is it getting warm for you? Our fishermen hated those cormorants. They ate so much fish, especially the young fish. Love that you are able to get those action shots.

Stayed up very late watching the young folks come around the parade area in their clothing designed for their country and the Olympics. Felt so sorry for the very small countries that only had a couple of people for their country. Putin looked really proud when he stood when his country passed by.

  • Good morning. Nice warm sunshine, it was chilly early this morning.

We have a new dog at our house. Daughter got a 1 1/2 year old dog from the animal shelter. Has vet appointment and will know just what he is. Owner had lost his job and couldn't afford to feed and care for him. Housebroken and very well behaved.

I see Tom Brady is going to retire.

Don't want to miss the opening ceremony for the Olympia Looks like from clips they show will really be a big production. Wonder if they are having problems with the virus .

Found first snake skin when I went out to feed the critters this morning.

Sounds like another storm is going to arrive later this week. So get the grocery shopping done and stay warm and safe..

  • Chatsworth House is not the one in CA.

  • Good morning.

31 degrees and the Iguanas are falling. Nice bright sunshine. Poor Tourist board for FL. very quiet this morning. I see the tropical fruit trees in neighbors yard looks like hit hard. Maybe we won't have those mangos all over the yard this year.

Always glad when week-ends are over. Have to wonder where our TV programmers come up with some of the programs. Glad to see the Bengals win, had been a long long time for them. Watched Chatsworth, missed the first part.

Katie hope the sun comes out and melts the snow and ice so you can make it out for your appointment. They are now talking about ice storms moving across the states.

Susan no space heaters, Hopefully this is our winter and I can put away the big heavy quilts. We had no birds or squirrels in the yard yesterday. Only our crow family has shown up this morning. Plant City hosing the strawberry fields. Right in the middle of this seasons crops.

Gordon that is a reward winning shot of that kite. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting that underground coal mining now trying to connect with fire that destroyed so many homes in Colorado recently

Shelly did they do anything to help with those frozen pipes? With no basement must be hard to get enough insulation. I love Marie Calendars frozen pies. The berry one really good. Tracey went to the new BJ'S and said some good prices. So busy was hard to look around..

Marson is there any cure for the C-Nile virus? It may be to late for me. Gotten to the point I even have a hard time finding my coffee cup. Be safe.

  • good morning.

To everyone out there where the snow is falling, please be extra careful. Tonight supposed to be our cold night.

Gordon I had the same thoughts when I saw the news about the bridge and the speech being given for another bill for money. They showed a city bus as one of the autos caught in the collapse. I understand it was a wooden bridge, usually they have weight restrictions.

  • Everyone but Gordon ready for that storm they say will arrive Sat.? Right now it doesn't sound like the weather watchers are sure just how much snow will end up falling. Think it will be the wind that makes for a bad week-end.

Starting to stay light just a little longer each day.

  • Gordon you had such a low virus count, and now running rampant. I worry that is what is going to happen with FL. We get more and more visitors and I am sure not all have been vaccinated. Not that that seems to really matter. Notice I have to be VERY careful about putting important papers away, otherwise never sure if I put them in files or stuck them in desk drawers. Will a homecare nurse come and check and dress Sylvia's toe?

Another gloomy cool day. We did get a little rain sometime in the night. Our county fair opens this coming wk.-end. FL. strawberries are on the market.

Shelly hope they got the frozen water pipes fixed in your new bathroom. After waiting this long. I use to hate turning on the faucets at night when it got cold and wind chill would be so bad. We had a circular drive so usually could get out for work. I have been using Google so much lately I'm surprised I haven't gotten a notice asking "Don't you know anything?"

Katie, Bob was on a pretty strict diet. I have finally gotten to where I like using olive oil. One of my favorite things using the olive oil is asparagus cooked on the grill. Good planning on the medication. I do a 2 wk. schedule and always make sure I don't use the last day before refilling.

Marson stay warm and safe. Do you work on puzzles in the winter?

Susan I'll bet you are getting some of our gloomy weather. So far the rain has stayed south of us Daughter trying to get in to see some dogs at the shelters. Now have to have a reservation and very short hrs. for viewing. Need three personal references, name of bank and if property owned or rented. How many people live in house, is yard fenced. Some want to come and check your house, others want pictures of fenced yard. Asked her if she was trying to adopt a child!! Seniors unable to adopt a puppy. Only thing that makes good sense.

  • Good afternoon. Came and fixed the furnace yesterday afternoon. So nice and warm when we got up this morning. Supposed to rain, but so far not a drop.

Katie good news you are both feeling OK. I saw the site for the free tests.

Gordon another interesting bird picture. If males are more brilliantly colored they must really be something.

Hello to Susan, Shelly, and Marson.

  • Good morning. Woke up and it was 61 degrees in the house. The furnace was running yesterday, but not putting out any heat. So repairman will be here this afternoon. Sun shining so will get a little warmer in here. Hot cup of coffee feels good to carry around.

Gordon what a beautiful bird picture. Do you frame any of them to sell? Good news for your friend. Our neighbor has had both of her big toes removed. Has a rolling gait when walking now.

Susan needed something for my outside family. Diced up a carrot very small, had some blueberries, old fashioned rolled oats, and smeared peanut butter on some of oats. So I see a few doves already checking it out. Last couple of days have made me regret giving away so much of my MI. winter clothes. There is a small town close to Asheville that has the most interesting quilt shop. So many of the quilts have written history that comes with them. My Mother made the hooked rugs that everyone used. She used only one wooden hook.

Katie know it is bad to have to sit and wait to see if you and Mike are going to be OK. When furnace guy shows up will make sure he is wearing a mask. Is your 50 degrees showing up?

Hello Shelly. I see you are busy as usual. Would make sure Danny's friend visits more often. That was a lot of shoveling. Got caught up on my laundry yesterday and made a pot of baked beans. Anything to get a little heat in the house! Your friend Marie must be very weak. From cancer and having COVID. Prayers to her and all the people out there struggling.

Marson thinking of you and hope you aren't out there doing to much shoveling.

  • Katie you certainly don't need something new to worry about.

Gloomy day out. Made extra popcorn last night so the outside critters could have a treat today. Right now there are 9 doves enjoying the treat,.

  • Gordon, I hope your friend Sylvia is doing OK. Must be terrible to need to go into hospital and not be able to have anyone with you.
Your halo is shining brighter and brighter. I love the old movies where everyone has a cigarette and a drink in their hands. Watch the old reruns of Perry Mason every evening.

Marson will it be about April as you wait for a warmer day to clear the deck? Hope some customers show up at thrift in that weather.

Susan odd that for a few years we had so many blue jays. Now haven't seen or heard one in months. Have a lot of those very small doves that always seem to come in pairs. Have seen a couple of orange and black butterflies and some of the small yellow ones lately.
DD looking at the shelter sites for another dog. I see they are up to the $300. range for adoption. She likes those really big dogs. What kind of quilt are you taking to your booth?

Not doing one thing today but eat and read.

Please everyone be careful and stay bundled up.

  • Happy birthday Gordon.

  • Good afternoon. Not a soul around, hope the weather isn't getting worse. Very cold last night, the sun tries to shine but the wind blows and it clouds over.

Have a meatloaf in the oven. Helps warm the house with oven on. Also made a pan of brownies.

Good results from my heart Dr. He said my EKG looked beautiful. So won't see him again until July.

  • Good morning.

Had a early DR. appointment this morning. Some interesting sightseeing. People with flip flops and heavy woolen socks. Short shorts with heavy jackets. One lady looked like she just opened her closet and piled on everything she could. Was in very low 40's and not warming up today.

Little critters were at the feeders bright an early. They didn't venture out yesterday. Had some taco shells I crumbled up for the little sparrows.

Hope all safe and staying warm.

  • Good morning, wind blowing and very cool this morning.

Susan the part where they tell us to stay away from windows kind of hard to do. We have windows everywhere plus those big slider window/doors. Two walk-in closets are located with walls all around them. No limbs or branches down yet. 10" of snow in Asheville must be quite a traffic stopper.

Katie glad they found your medical problem. Odd how a person ends up with something and have tried to take care of themselves. No one believed me when I told them I had never smoked. They said my lungs looked like charcoal. I am walking proof of second hand smoke.

Gordon glad they moved the eye surgery ahead for you. Guess I would have also wondered why the change in dates. I am sure they will be laughing at your response for a long time.

Shelly I'll bet the wind is howling off the lake. How does that new car get around in snow or have you ventured out?

Marson I am sure you are all snuggled in with lots of cold and blowing and drifting. Guess thinking about spring might be just a little to early. Hope the chocolate supply holds up. Be safe.

We have a farmers market that has opened up in the area. Open on Tuesday. Had article in todays paper and looks like quite a few vendors plus food trucks.

Be careful if you really have to venture out.

  • Nothing like getting a wake up call at 7 a.m. to tell you to take shelter until 7:45 a.m. We were lucky and got very little damage, but Ft. Myers got hit. Lots of mobile homes lost. Got windy for awhile in the afternoon.

Hope everyone tucked in since looks like lots of ice out there. Going to keep the road crews and wreckers busy.

  • Good morning.

Thanks so much for helping me get past my loss. I know all of you have been in the same place at some time.

Gordon Stuie was between 7/8 yrs. old when I got him at the shelter. We had him for a little over 8 yrs. Had lots of problems with UTI, was on special diet. No matter what you tried he could smell the medicine in food.

GD and BF doing better. He can work from home, she ran such a fever for a long time. DD feels so bad because she can't go and help. SIL feeling better, and not wanting to sleep all day. Has a DR. appointment then nothing for 6 months.

Nice cool weather and looks like going to e that way for a week.

  • Good morning, not a good day today. My little dog died in the night. He was fine Sunday eating and playing. got up yesterday and didn't want food. Just thought he would eat later as had his medicine in it. Late afternoon he couldn't stand up.

Missed watching my Alabama. Good show Georgia.

Lots of Kleenex today and not much else. Looks like rain so will find a good book.

Gordon another great picture. That is more like the way our sunsets sometimes look.

  • Good morning, a very windy day here. Looks like another week of yard work coming up.

Gordon, what a wonderful shot of the bird. Do you just come along and see the wildlife or do you sit and wait for a good picture? The birds are so beautiful with their bright colors. I still think the owls you have shown are my favorites. Thank you for that rain forest site. Was in Chicago when the King Tut exhibit was there. It was a wonderful exhibit and we hit it in late afternoon. Could take our time looking. What a very small child/man he was. They had a chair on exhibit and it wasn't much bigger then a doll house type chair. Unbelievable what they did with gold working it into masks and things. The area I lived in in MI. was home to the Passenger Pigeon. They were hunted into extinction because they were hunted for food for fancy restaurants.

Katie the word "disabled" certainly fell short for Mike's care. What is so sad, by the time we struggle with all the paperwork, someone tells us the rules have changed. Kind of like the struggle with this virus. Not the same rules day by day. Different rules for different states. FL. is rather wide open and our virus rates are climbing again.

Susan I've looked at all the phones out there, and going to go with Jitterbug. One place I called said backlog on orders. Now why didn't I think of that?? I have Consumers Cellular. I called about the number skipping since no real handbook came with phone to be used as a troubleshooter. They said send the phone back in. Bob had a cell phone with AT&T and let them have it for checking. When he got it back all his saved address/phone numbers had been deleted. At least Bear is on the waiting list to be next for a private room. Will he like being by himself in a room. Last wk.-end watching football got very interesting. I am sitting not paying that much attention to the game. All at once here is a player running along the playing field pulling off his uniform and throwing things into stand.

Shelly I can not get over the fact that I use to go out ice fishing every winter. We lived on a small inland lake and just went out the door and onto the ice. Loved the fishing, had a small ice shanty with a small stove in it. Now it gets down to 65 and I am bundled up with shoes and socks on down here. Guess it doesn't take long to have thinner blood. No Tracey isn't selling on eBay right now. Got into a real argument with buyer about a picture. So she said heck with it, just to many rules. John seems to be doing well, and had his first checkup since stents were replaced. He is really watching his diet. They eat almost no meat. Fish has really gotten very expensive here.

Marson you should pack your suitcase and head down to FL. I think there is a food truck on every corner down here. I am sure you are enjoying a good book and some chocolate

Watching The Roosevelts on TV. Right now just professional football on.

  • Hello to all.

I ventured out to the grocery store. Over 2 months since I last went Saw lots of bare shelves. Just a stray box here and there in the pasta section, same with cereal. Pet food really empty, same when I was there last..

Guy came strolling in wearing his gym clothes. Towel slung over his shoulder, still sweating. Gym couple of doors down from grocery store. I think everyone in there was glaring at him as they tried to stay away from him. No mask.

Got pretty chilly last night, has finally made it up to 74 today.

Need to finish finding room in pantry for some of my buys.

  • Good morning everyone. Very cool morning.

Trying to order a new phone. I wanted a flip top and was supposed to be so reliable. When you push a number button it sometimes gives me a row of that number. Makes calls tough since everything seems to be automated. Ordered a Jitterbug but out of stock. So waiting. Giving up on the flip top ones.

It is a shame how the VA hospitals vary so much from state to state. We tried to get some information when Bob was on such expensive treatments, they said all his records had been in the big fire they had that destroyed all records for time period we were trying to obtain.

Reading the mess VA. had with the snowfall they had. I remember our area we lived in (Yorktown) had what they considered a snowfall. The base closed early so civilians could get home safely. Schools let out early, cars in ditches everywhere. The snowfall was what we called a skiff of snow. Came home from work and swept the snowfall off of sidewalk with a broom.

Susan I would be doing great if I could just give up all the paperwork I have stored. Have worked on my genealogy for over 30 yrs. and still can not find any information on my Mother's Mother. In fact have only spoken to one blood relative of my Mother's. So I have paperwork and notes that I just can't toss out. GF called me a few wks. ago about something she was searching for. Needed to know if so and so had been in our school classes. So I dug out yearbooks and found who she was looking for.

Back in business with the TV. Had to go into the modem and find a button to click. For some reason the settings had gotten in program mode, and I do not use that. So now I am all set for the big game. Fellow said our area had shown quite a few short periods with loss of power and he was sure that is how programming got changed.

Good luck Katie. I have to get a cup of coffee and tell myself to calm down when I try to get information over the phone. When I changed health insurance for 22 I went with a pharmacy that was offered. Thought this would be great, home delivery of 3 month prescription refills. Put it on automatic payment. Right away started getting bills for payment. They call to make sure you are the person orders are being filled for. Went 9 days without one prescription they missed, when I called they said talk to my DR. and see if they could help??? So changing over to Walgreen pharmacy this coming month.

Good morning Shelly and Marson. Stay safe and warm.

Gordon you seem to have everything under control and looking forward for some more pictures of your wildlife.

  • Good morning. Need to wear your shoes when going outside. The cool weather feels great because the humidity is very low. Sun is shining.

Gordon you really are one of the "good" guys. We don't have much yard to mow. Had been hiring someone to do it. Bought a battery operated small mower. Plug it in when finished, can mow for about 1 hr. on a charge. Decided to get another battery and found no luck. They are made in China and they have no idea when a supply will come in.

Turned on TV New Year Eve and could not get but the one channel the TV was on when I shut it down. There wasn't any use in trying to call the cable company for help as all lines stayed busy. Our other 2 sets work, so will just wait and see what is going on. Changed batteries in tuner but no help.

Susan they better find a fix for that TV before the "Red Tide" gets ready to roll Hope they are able to get Bear into a private room. Was going to check out the GW that reopened close to us. They moved into a much larger store. Now the virus is really breaking out here, so guess I can go without getting out and shopping. Will venture out this week to find some things I need from the grocery store. Home delivery is great, but from checking my monthly bills, they are really getting way to expensive. The main library has a huge selection of paperbacks, so that can keep me busy.

Shelly has Danny heard anything else about getting a portable oxygen unit? I sold most of my metal pie tins with advertising on them, Still have 14 stashed away. I still watch the Antique Roadshow. Like when they show art, so many old pictures show up down here. Hope you aren't having to shovel to much snow.

Marson one thing about it, the West coast shouldn't have a water shortage in their reservoirs after this year. Between the rain and the snowfall. Be careful using that snow shovel.

Reen I know you are busy and just wish you and Gil a good year.

  • Shelly, yes bikes are registered in this county, not sure if all of Fl. We are also allowed to ride bikes on the sidewalk.

  • Good morning, hope it finds everyone safe. Looks like some more bad weather all over the states. I can just imagine how those people in CO. must feel. Their houses burn to the ground and it snows the next day.

Just looked at a list of items that are being restricted at my local grocery store. I know I have been having trouble getting half&half coffee creamer. One of things on list.

Shelly my brother and his wife use to come visit and we would sit up most of night playing cards. Bob would play a few hands. The police told SIL there was no question about the bike belonging to him. He could tell them all sorts of things he had done to bike. The sticker where it showed the bike had been registered had been removed but the sticky area was still on bike.

Windy again today so I suppose more twigs and branches will fall. Need to rake up the mango leaves.

  • Thank you Marson. Now I can giggle all night after reading your post.

  • Good morning everyone. Some fog but lifting fast, supposed to be 82 today.

Gordon your fireworks looked beautiful. Watched a program showing the different countries and their fireworks. I live on the Gulf side of Fl. Port Charlotte, Fl. between Ft. Myers and Sarasota. I have one of those mango trees in the backyard. It is just now getting those odd clusters that blooms will later appear on.. For some reason they are not good to eat. What a mess they make, the rabbits love them. Neighbors behind us has a neat star fruit tree. He use to have banana "trees" and would have stalks of bananas. It got to cold one winter and he never replaced them.

Katie Kmart handled Martha Stewart for a short time. They had all of her Christmas things on sale at 70% off. I always loved her color combinations and really picked up some nice buys.

Marson I doubt if there was much chocolates left for after Christmas sales here. They started running out of all the good varieties after first week of Dec. Got a box of Hershey's Pot of Gold chocolates, first time ever had Hershey's assorted chocolate. I remember those days when the snow would blow against the outside doors and took forever to shovel even a little opening.

Susan looks like you may be getting another wet day. Fellow called and asked if he could come and clean gutters on Monday. Said the fog made the roofs so slippery. Odd to be in business and not take credit cards. He said had never gotten set up to use them. He is a one man operation and I am sure trying to save money and those CC fees are one way.

I see they are cracking down on the cruise ships again. Hope they aren't going to have to float around at sea like what happened last year. Seems people just can't win this year. Now that terrible brush fire in Colorado. Odd snow all around and a raging fire burning towns. Fellow was teasing tiger at Naples zoo and was sticking his hand into fenced area of tiger. Tiger had hold of his arm and policeman shot and killed the rare tiger.

Shelly are you going to take anything to the last auction house you tried? The one auction house that was around here shut down. I talked Bob into going with me a couple of times. they would try to sell those 12 place settings of dishes and were so slow.
People would just get up and leave they moved things so slow.

Get your naps so you can watch the ball drop at midnight.

  • Katie when i got my last bloodwork results back, I was very low on Vit.B-12. Have been taking it and can really notice the improvement in my energy level. Now instead of putting off doing something I actually get up and get started and finish .You have always had good luck selling.

GD called and said she and her BF both have the virus. Both double vax and booster and flu shots. They just moved from Denver to Savannah. Bought a house using Zillow and both had jobs waiting on them. Had to be checked twice a wk. at jobs and she is very sick and he is not as sick.

Dense fog this morning and finally seeing sunshine. Supposed to get up to 82 today. Hard to tell what business is going to keep regular hrs. and which are closing early tomorrow. So far it looks like all outside activities still going to go on for New Years Eve.

  • Good evening to all.

Katie I am sure you are glad the tests are finally over. Like you said, you certainly have a healthy lifestyle. We strung cranberries and popcorn for our Christmas tree. We always dug the carrots from the garden with the tops on for winter storage. Would get some out with tops on them and stick around in the tree when it would go out side.

Susan I have about given up trying to follow the cancellation of our football games. Looks like you are going to get some mixed weather coming your way. That small tornado that passed in our area sure brought down the twigs and small limbs. Fellow coming tomorrow to clean out our gutters. Also a section of gutter seem to have pulled apart so that will get taken care of. Must be hard to keep things in booths that might interest people. No one seems to collect like they did a few years ago.

Now talk about luck. SIL went to Dr. for his checkup. The office was so backed up he told the nurse he was going to step out and go next door to a Dollar General store. Just as he started out door fellow pulled up and parked a bike. SIL knew right way it was the one someone had stolen from him. He called police and went out and took closer look. There was still a lock on bike. His Father had always told him to put two locks on his bikes. Make sure they didn't require the same key. He had the key to that lock in his pocket and unlocked it and placed it so bike couldn't be ridden. Police got there and fellow had just gotten out of jail. He said someone gave him bike. They managed to get the name and hauled fellow off to check it out. SIL loaded bike in car and brought it home.

Shelly the Pyrex bowl I was asking about very plain. I just wasn't asking the right wording when doing the searching I wish I could go in and just look at something without ending up wandering all over the place looking at things. Someone emailed me about a kid we went to school with. No one could remember what year they moved to our area. So I dragged out some yearbooks, and never got another thing done that evening but look at yearbooks.

Marson the candy boxes are just to tempting. So got out a freezer bag and put many goodies in for the freezer. Couldn't find any of those Merci boxes of candy, sold out everywhere. Be careful shoveling.

Gordon how is the hand coming along? Are you going to have any scars?

Stay warm and be careful. Gordon and I will enjoy the warm weather.

  • Merry Christmas to all of you that are like my second family.

  • Gordon what a beautiful bird. I am sure many have never seen one. There are two large empty lots in our block. Late at night many critters come out. Hope you had a nice Christmas, and your hand didn't slow you down eating dinner.

Watching some of the "modern" Christmas shows for chidden. If I had been able to watch them when I was little would probably have hid under the bed.

Susan was looking at some of the replacement on football teams. Lots of players not going to be able to show up, plus some coaches. Did you make it over to your booth with some more things? Do you have much more to clear out of Bear's house? I cleaned area of one of my cabinets where I had stored doggie toys. There was this plastic molded huge mushroom in a sickening green color. A napkin holder. Now I just do not know where something like that came from.

Katie I have a small serving Pyrex bowl that doesn't have tapered sides. Straight up and down and in that odd pale blue color. Are they hard to find? So far only one I have found. Friend had a sheet meal shop and they came up with the idea of some firepits. Stamped patterns around outside, only thing they were a few yrs. ahead of the demand. Sold some and never made any more. Had the tripod and small grill that would swing out of the way.

Marson it is amazing some of the cards that can be found at thrift stores and most are a dollar or under each. Plus can get quite assortment Sometimes the leftovers are better then first time around. .

Shelly did your Fenton end up selling? Are you all set for Christmas dinner? With this bad weather bet not much getting done on your addition. I have a large dresser that somehow got placed right in front of the only wall plugin along wall in that area of bedroom. So I very carefully removed 4 long and 2 small drawers so I could move the darn thing. So as i put each drawer back I double checked to see if anything stored that could go to thrift. A few things Let me tell you this was mostly all day job.

  • Good morning to all.

Spent yesterday running in and out of the house trying to get things picked up.. Little tornado got just close enough to us to make a mess of yards and streets. Branches everywhere. Have a nice brush pile in back yard. Let the dog out around 4 this morning and it was 49 out. So turned on furnace for a couple of hrs. Those tile floors sure are cold! Supposed to be back in 80's next week.

Got out our little table top tree and decorated it. Katie yours look s so nice and the smell of a fresh tree always helped the Christmas cheer.

SIL ended up spending a week in hospital and having 3 stents .Good thing he likes to sit and read. Likes Westerns and hard to find in resale shops. He uses the library most of the time.

I check the sports page every morning to see what colleges have cancelled their games. Really like to watch that Ky. team play. They certainly are fast and not very tall.

  • Happy Birthday Shelly. Get out and enjoy the day.

SIL may come home this afternoon.

First clear night we have had in a long time. The moon was so bright I thought it was a full moon at first.

Trying to clear out the refrig. just a little. I save all scraps and try to mix in with Stuie's food. Susan he doesn't like peanut butter. Never had such a fussy dog, maybe because he has been on medication for so long.

Katie a nice shaped tree. I am like Susan don't want to dig all the decorations out this year.

Susan way to go on your glass sales. Nice to end a month in the black. When we lived close to D.C. went to the Smithsonian quite often. Probably would have gone more often but parking spaces are something to fight for. They had the moon rocks on display and DD and I stood in line a long time to see them. In a very loud voice my DD told me they looked like the things along the RR tracks. The cinders.

  • Katie, my SIL went for 6 month heart checkup this morning.. They sent him right away to ER. His 2 stents had collapsed and they did surgery this afternoon and replaced them. Don't know how long he will be in hospital. Sounds like you are going to have more tests.

  • Now I notice I am repeating myself!! Old age about to get the best of me.

    Max

  • Good afternoon.

Susan more heavy fog here so passing it along. Turning into a very warm day. Ventured out in yard to chop around on a plant that is getting to tall. Things certainly grow fast here. Glad to hear you got the Christmas decorations up in your booth. Beginning to wonder if anyone is going to have any extra money to spend this year. Wonder if the warehouse of Amazon's had supplies in it? We owned a house in the Fl. Keys when the big hurricane hit the Homestead area. This one in Ky. looks about the same type of damage.

Katie hope your tests turned out well. Glad the Boss has some relief. Interesting the things you find for him to eat. Wish I could come up with something here.that I could get my dog to take his medicine in. Right now he is on Cyclosporine capsules, Enrofloxacin, and Prednisone. No matter how or what I mix them in he can smell them.

Gordon take care. That looks like some serious bites and sure lots of pain. Waiting to hear how a feral cat got you.

Went to eye Dr. for first time in 3 yrs. Had noticed my eyesight not quite the same. Know I have done nothing but read books, play casino games on computer, and watch TV. Took 2 hrs. for all the tests, even checked the back of my eyeballs. In 05/06 I had cataract surgery. Dr. said after this long a period a film starts to form over the eyes. Simple to have it taken off with lazar. So need to get that done. Was so sure I would need glasses, lucked out this time.

We had a house in Fl. Keys when the big hurricane hit the Homestead area. The one that Ky. had looks almost the same type of damage. Wish there was some way I could rerack out and help them. Guess keep all in my prayers.

Hello to Marson and Shelly. Wondering if both of you are getting the changing weather.

  • Gordon those cowbirds are disgusting. After all the other birds nests and eggs .Our blue jays are a real problem here. Very loud and aggressive. Try to run all the other birds and squirrels away from the feeders.

The ferns were getting out of hand so cut them way back. They are slow growing now, maybe the season isn't right. Have a big pot of lavender that is starting to bloom again. There is this ground cover of small light blue flowers that attract so many bees. I think it is called snow flower. Exactly what it looks like when you glance at it, a ground cover of snow. Our neighbors had this beautiful old magnolia tree that was so pretty in bloom. Few yrs. ago we had very cold few days, and it never recovered from that. They cut it down this week.

Susan hope the prescriptions helped you out. Have to get ready for the "big game" Did you get any of the decorations done at your booth? Had thought about getting some yard decorations, but they have been stealing those too.

Katie from what I have heard about those Subaru's, that is hardly any miles for it. I was going to jump right in and buy a car after selling the truck. After looking at sticker prices changed my mind in a hurry.

  • Good morning, another foggy start to the ay.

Gordon, at least we now know most of our neighbors have more 24 hr. security cameras then most of the businesses around here! Told us almost impossible to recover stolen bikes.

Susan one lady told us they had the garage doors open, stepped into house for something. Came out and someone had come into garage and taken Grandkids bikes. Without basements or attics everything ends up in the garage. That should really be a good game between our teams. Wonder how my basketball teams will do this year, and will they be able to play? My poor little dog has a problem with UTI infections. They give him a 2 wk. mediation that seems to just start to clear things up, and it comes back. Glad you decided to not move Bear. Any small change can really upset a person.

Keep looking at the Christmas decoration boxes up on the top row in garage. Really miss having a live tree. I had one one those sectioned strings of lights attached trees. Thing weighed a ton and lights always needed adjusting. Sold it and now have this little 3 ft. thing that looks like it belongs to Charlie Brown.

Katie I like the color of your doors. Mine are a deeper shade of green and if I could come up with another idea for color would change .

    Hello to all.

  • Gordon I liked all the pictures you posted a few weeks ago.

Katie is that our front door? Very nice.

Susan I think GA. thought they were close enough in start of 4th quarter to maybe pull a win, and got a little carless.

Dog had a early appointment for blood work and finish up his yrly. tests. Don't think I have ever seen such heavy fog as we had this morning. Didn't burn off until around 9:30. Busy office and very few masks worn by other customers.

SIL likes to work on bikes. Had a beautiful unusual bike that he had just put new tires and special seat on. Went to store and chained bike. Came out and bike gone, worth over $1,000. Store had very good surveillance cameras. Daughter ran information on our Neighbor Watch , Craigslist, and all sporting goods/bike shops in a 25 mile radius. Lady called and said she had odd pictures of someone riding a bike and towing another one. She has a 24 hr. running cameras, and said from descriptions given looks like who we are looking for. Will see what the police come up with.

  • Susan, can not believe I almost missed GA. & AL. Made a fresh pot of coffee and all settled in. Will be a good one.

  • A good morning to al.

Katie do you have Lyme disease? Waiting on test results sure tough on the stress levels.

Gordon, watched Outdoor Adventures with Tim Faulkner early this morning. What a fascinating country you live in. North America has wonderful things to see, but yours are so colorful!!

Susan so far haven't found any Sat. football games I want to watch. Our paper was full of information about the small amount of snow on the ground. We are supposed to go back into the 80's next week. For some reason we have lots of garage/yard sales listed for this week-end. Guess they figure all the winter people have finally arrived

Heard from Shelly and she is one busy lady..

  • Katie, at least you are making some progress on what is wrong. I have been on blood thinners for almost 4 yrs. and have the bruises and scars to go along with it. When do you go back in?

Nice sunny day but a little cool.

Found from my blood work I had done a few days ago, I am very low on Vitamin. B12. Haven been borderline anemic for a long time. Use to have to take the iron shots. So will see if any changes after I take the medicine for 30 days.

Susan I feel a lot like you must feel. I try to get at least one big job done around the house each day. Phone calls are beginning to take up so much time any more. Had a question about not being able to get into my medical online portal. I kept getting information about tests from my previous health insurance provider. I was transferred twice and third time I was told would be 15 minute. Wait time passed and message said now 6 minute wait. Then message came on saying this office closed for lunch from 12:30 until 1:30.

Hello to everyone. Weather can't seem to make up its mind.

  • Good morning.

Got so much taken care of the past two days think I will just enjoy the day.

Here it is Dec. already. Looks like we are back to being very cautious again. Another lockdown would be awfully hard right now. Better then filling the hospitals.

  • Hello to all.

A little rain in the night, sun out now.

Just finished looking at 77 pages of eBay Fire King coffee mugs. Have a pattern I guess is hand painted, called peach blossom. Have 25 varied mugs in dishwasher so can't double check right now. My friends have always laughed at me and my old coffee mug collections.

Susan did you see the packed MI. stadium? Going into 4th quarter wasn't sure how it was going. What happened to my Al. team, did they have coach change? I think shopping online is going to get interesting this yr. Daughter had ordered a pr. of sneakers first
part of Nov. finally shipped. Wrong size and wrong color. When she returned them Co. said item was out of stock and thought she might like the ones they shipped. Wrong color and wrong size??

Katie you should see my one bedroom floor. Trying to put together a pkg. of paperbacks to sell. Listing no duplicates, so have 25 books spread out on floor to make sure not listing two of same book. Tried doing it with them stacked, but harder to do.

Marson was 49 here for a short time this morning. That oatmeal sure hit the spot. You are lucky to have such a gene pool. To live that long and still be active.

I'll always be grateful for all the help so many people that helped me tracking down and learning about pottery and some glass. So many of the small antique stores have gone out of business in this area. A few consignment shops and the big GW and SA still here. Gordon I haven't seen transferware in a shop in years.

Time to rest my eyes and have a cup of coffee.

  • Good morning, a cool one here. Even turned furnace on earlier for a short time.

Gordon I always enjoy hearing New Zealand's Prime Minister speak. My pedestal bowl search has turned up Dresden hotel china, and Hotel Hercules which I think is/was connected with Gridley china. The bottom stamping so hard to read. So many sites you have to sign in to look at anything any more.

Katie it has been over 3 yrs. for me and Bob's struggles. I am just now beginning to sleep more then 2 hrs. at a time. Never use to know the meaning of stress, my B/P tells me differently now. My Mon. Dr. appointment went well. Dr. ordered blood work on so many things. She was a little nervous about my weight. Had weighed151 last visit and now 143. Told her no middle of the night snacks, and so many good things cut out of diet. Going for 138.

Susan I made a mess of some of my dresser drawers hunting for my MI. flannel night gowns. Feels great and supposed to last into next week. Think our yard has finally gone into winter mode. May only need trimming every 3/4 weeks. My "book organizing" comes from working part time at our small library. Just when Dewey Decimal system was being set up.

Groomers are very hard to find down here. Especially the ones that make house calls. The pet stores have them but really tough making a trip. They have no area to walk a pet, just park in parking lot. After a dog has been waiting to be groomed for over 2 hrs. it is a challenge to walk them to the front of the store without having problems in "aisle 5"

If I don't make it back, may each and every one of you have a nice Thanksgiving. Gordon and Marson don't mean to leave you out.

  • Good morning, a few sprinkles in the night. Sunshine right now.

Off for Dr. visit. Have all my prescriptions bagged up for review! Hospital seemed to think some of my medication might need changing around or dropped.

Have a question about some old ironstone I have. Bowls have what look like pedestal bottoms. They look awfully large for soup or salad. Still looking at my reference books but nothing shows up.

Gordon I have been lucky to be able to see so much of the country. Loved to read when small and would come across interesting sounding places and think "got to see that" Russia and Poland the two countries I have most wanted to visit.

Susan have you gotten all your plants brought in? Looks like some colder weather on the way. My friends in MI. have their snowplows on their trucks and the shovels all ready. How are sales holding up? Our paper has free ads and going to give it a try. listing something using 15 words or less including price and phone number hard when listing glass or pottery.

Katie I worry a little about the groomer that comes to the house to groom my dog. Her husband had to have both shots at his workplace and ended up in ICU with the virus. She is very bitter and refuses to get shots. I wear my mask and step outside but a little nervous about the handling of payment. When I called for my eye appointment they made it very clear, masks on at all times.

Hi Marson. Noticed you haven't dropped in sine Oct. on this chat board. Hope you have gotten all settled for the long winter.

  • Gordon, actually the flareups where I have to use oxygen during the day only happens once in awhile. Humming seems to help my lungs. Just have to make sure the windows and sliders are closed!! Do you ever go to New Zealand? Just read article about Curio Bay.

  • Good morning to all.

One of those days where my oxygen level will not stay up without using oxygen. Usually I can do all my morning housework and never have to use oxygen until bedtime. Makes vacuuming a challenge dragging a oxygen line around. Learned in a hurry not to do much cooking with the oxygen line dragging around as I almost shut it in the oven one time.

None of us are turkey fans so trying to think of something for Thanksgiving dinner. I'm going to vote for ordering dinner from Cracker Barrel. Close to us and always good.

I just can not stop myself from organizing. We have a Books a Million store that has the largest selection of magazines I have ever seen. Catch myself putting them back in proper places.

  • Good morning.

Looks like health problems are catching up with many of us.

Katie, that sounds like some serious tests coming up. Will be thinking of you, stress can sure play a big role in our health.

Susan, they say some kind of bug going around, sounds like flu to me. Know it is hard to just take it easy when so many things keep popping up that need to be taken care of. Glad you had a good back up supply and didn't have to worry about getting to the store.

Gordon I remember all the things you use to do for your Mother. Sounds like a nice arrangement where you and friend are helping one another. I finally got appointment to get my eyes checked. Hopefully everyone will wear a mask.

Had to get my computer checked out. For some reason it would freeze up and unable to get into sites. Some of the settings had to be changed. Seems to be working fine now.

Nice and cool at night. Have to hunt up my slippers when I let the dog out late at night.

  • Katie thanks for thinking of me. They did a EKG, gave me a shot, and a pill. In and out in around 2 hrs. The ladies son came and bought the books. He said she was always "shopping" for him and got carried away . I have lots of green depression glass that I am also going to price high. Just think of all the years it took us getting it all together.

  • Sorry, I'm back.

Katie when you place ads do you get people that want to argue? I placed ad for J. Patterson paperbacks 50 no duplicates. Lady was sure with that many there had to be duplicates.

  • Good morning.

    A rainy week-end coming up,

Time seems to just slip away with me. I don't really do much but it seems like I never catch up. Took everything out of kitchen pantry and checked dates and reorganized. Then I went to the spice cabinet and checked dates.

Marson I hope you got all of those plants into the garage or house. Looks like winter just might be here to stay. We are even having cool nights.

Heard from a friend couple of days ago. They had a terrible reaction to their booster shot. I went to get my flu shot at grocery store where I shop. Decided not to try that. People lined up and siting and standing. So will let Dr. give me one next week.

Susan I must say some interesting things going on with you. I know it was very serious at the time but the "Irish tale" will be remembered for a long time. DD had to put her big dog down last week. He fell and wasn't able to get up, was Ok after helping him stand. He weighed almost 100 lbs.

Surveyor finally came to survey our property. For some reason when fellow bought lot next to us all the stakes disappeared. He swore up and down our fence line was on his property. The smug feeling to find our fence line down between our property was setback 2 ft.

Made a early morning run to ER last Sunday. B/P just would not come down, and had been all over the place for a couple of days. My heart Dr. had taken me off one of my B/P meds. because he thought that was problem with my being so dizzy off and on. Hospital said take all my prescriptions in to my Dr. and maybe something needs switching around. So will know next week.

Shelly I know bad weather headed your way, so you will have time to come visit here. I know both of us have not been showing up much.

Hello Gordon. Do you stay in one place now or do you still move around?

  • Good morning, went outside with dog at 5 a.m. and it was a wonderful 69. Will get up to 91 this afternoon.

Marson I had a big planter of geraniums that I rushed to get in before they froze. Didn't do a thing with them but water a couple of times. They were beautiful the next year. I don't have much of a green thumb.

Katie are the deer all young ones? Has Mike gone in for his MRI? Hope both of you recovered from the virus shot.

Gordon I am honestly not sure why some of the medication I take is needed. Cardiologist doesn't want water building up so take water pills some days. When on water pills have to have potassium also. To regulate my B/P is an ongoing struggle. Right now I have to take it 3X week and go back in a month Know I drink way to much coffee..

  • Good morning. Looks like another nice day. Hopefully the afternoon showers have left.

Potassium seems to be the only medication I am on that bothers me. Odd instructions tell you not to lie down for 30 minutes after taking. Allergic to sulfa. On a blood thinner that makes me all black and bruised looking if I barely bump into anything.

Have an idea of what both Katie and Gordon going through. A person knows something isn't just right with their body, but Dr. tells you all tests are OK?

Susan my worst problem is I have a hard time slowing down when I walk. Have always walked very fast I don't know what kind of dog DG has. She got a sweet looking large dog from shelter. It would bite and attack anyone but her. Vet said nothing would stop it, so had it put to sleep. Got this one also from shelter hope doing better.. Not sure what Shelly is up to. Know she is doing OK, and has had lots company. Also some home construction coming up. Been sitting outside in early morning taking "critter" inventory. The morning doves are back and I think there are 4 squirrels that sleep in the oak tree.

Marson how are you doing? Are you bringing any of your plants inside for the winter?

  • Good morning. A beautiful day here.

  • Good morning.

GD driving from Denver to Savannah. Has a very large dog and sounds like not a good traveler.

Tomorrow first day of fall. Sure wish the weatherman would pay attention!!

I have searched for years for information on my Mother's family. Finally found marriage licenses and birth records.

Katie I know I would feel so much better if I could just get some sleep at night. I sleep for 2-3 hrs. get up and try to find something to do, then will go back to sleep for another 2-3 hrs. Was napping in daytime when I felt so bad, not doing that now.

House beside us sold and new neighbors have arrived. Will be just winter neighbors.

  • Happy birthday Janice. Often wonder how you are doing? Are you in area where you are having flooding problems?

    A beautiful morning here.

Susan I play those video casino games on computer. They have most with timing for play, so I stand in front of computer and go through several different exercises and time myself. I go out at night when humidity drops and walk up and down driveway. Was told to always turn on heater to high setting in used car looking to buy. Let heater run for at least 10 minutes, open car door and see what it smells like inside. Beginning to think I have been in lockdown to long with some of the things I find to do to amuse myself. Need to get my eyes checked, to much reading. Glad your neighbor is going to be OK.

Katie I also thought you would be getting lots of rain. We get the FL. afternoon downpour every day. Dew is so heavy mornings, it may sprinkle in the night. Don't know about your dog but mine seems to love to have me take him out in the downpours. I don't even close the umbrella. Leave it open on patio chair. Good luck car shopping.

  • Gordon I started exercise program and thought skipping rope might help. Found I could not jump and get my feet off the floor. Lungs don't bother me, but legs get to feeling shaky.

Katie I drove Bob's GMC truck and got tired of trying to find parking spots. So had chance to sell. Daughter will take me where I need to go. Right now with virus around a DR. appointment is the big trip. Usually order groceries and going to home delivery on prescriptions. 3 month supply at a time. With all the flooding I wonder how used cars are.

We are about 15 miles south of all the news about Gabby. Either they aren't telling the public much or nothing makes sense.

Susan I hope you are just busy shuffling things around, and both you and Bear are OK. I see the rain is getting around your area again.

Marson thought of you last night when watching late night weather reports. Snow in higher elevations.

    Hi Shelly.

  • Morning to all.

Back from Heart Dr. Took me off Amlodipine, so maybe won't feel so dizzy all the time. Check back in a month.

Sure hope the rain is letting up in some areas. I see more rain along Gulf Coast.

Katie I thought you would be getting rain by now. Friends in Tn. still cleaning up.

I was making coffee in kitchen and Bob yelled for me to come look at TV. He thought it was some kind of a commercial at first. Showing the first tower coming down.

    Anyone gotten the flu shot?

  • Good afternoon to all.

Gordon, I am so sorry, I apologize to you and everyone else. Labor Day was what I was so upset about.

  • Good evening. A very nice day with only a couple of sprinkles.

Sliced up a peach and added a banana. Think that will be my evening snack.

Kind of sad our daily paper never even had one article about Memorial Day.

    Have a good evening.

  • Good Sunday morning to all.

Woke up to some very heavy fog, sun trying to shine. We had rain again in the night.

Susan it started thundering early yesterday afternoon. Was so afraid going to lose TV but I got to see Alabama "roll on" nice to have football back. Yes Shelly lives in PA. She must be really busy I think with family get togethers. Good news for Cyclops, Smoke just might have a very large family over the area. Sounds like Bear has some very nice glass. Good thing I don't live close to the antique store where you have a booth. I moved quite a few pieces of my green depression glass into shelves that are built into one wall of family room.

Katie do you have to take allergy shot every week When I went grocery shopping Thurs. our grocery store pharmacy had things all set up for flu shots. I usually get mine towards the end of Sept. Almost everyone shopping had their masks on..

Gordon, I am looking at small portable units that you set up these screens to charge the batteries by solar. Hate to go in and check online, this seems to generate a flood of calls and email. Odd so many of my symptoms were so similar of my Mother's ALS, I am sure Dr. a little surprised at my look of relief when they said COPD. At that time didn't know a thing about it. I had been Christmas shopping and came home to start dinner. My daughter walked in and I said get me to ER, I can't breath. About last thing I remembered for 9 days. Great that you are doing so well.

Hello to Marson and Shelly. Anyone hear from Reen lately?

Take care the weather just doesn't want to calm down.

  • Katie did you get any wind with the rain?

Gordon I have stage 3 of COPD, plus A fib. Dr. also on call at one of our hospitals. Said to much virus to have in office appointments right now. Do you see any solar generators used in your area?

Has anyone heard anything about the flu shots for this year?

Started out with some sunshine but looks like that is gone for the day. Everyone be carful if you have to venture out.

  • Good morning, thanks for thinking of me on my birthday.

Looks like more rain for the afternoon. We got one outer band from Ida with extremely heavy rain and some wind. Lasted about 30 minutes.

Got call from pulmonary office Fri. and they canceled my office visit for today. Called and went over things on the phone this morning.

Wasn't able to watch the races or soccer games Sunday. Storm had TV out for most of afternoon.

    Hope everyone staying dry.

  • Good morning. Another laugh for the day. I never thought about anyone comparing a cold call to scamming. We have a deal going here. Call comes in and the party calls you by first name. Gives his name and then asks if your will look up an address and pass the information about it being for sale to another name they give out. Come to find out when looking up the person making the call they belong to a very well known real estate agency. Kind of their idea of a scam as trying to push house sales.

Katie I don't know about in your area but here prices keep going up on everything.
When I placed my order to grocery store I was surprised at the number of things they were out of. No Clorox bleach, it was just starting to be on the shelves. After watching when Katrina hit the N.O. area before, I can not imagine people staying this time.

Susan those "woods" spiders get so big. They seem to have a way of hiding. Bet Cyclops ready to run and hide at every little noise. From the looks of weather maps right now looks like you are going to have rain coming your way again. PBS had a documentary on fires that were raging out west in the early 1900's. Also one on Queen Elizabeth. So I didn't get to sleep until around 5 a.m.

Gordon, Tweeter has some odd guidelines. Taliban can post but not some of our US citizens. One of my school friends posted on FB some things about something that should have remained private, and now our group has kind of broken up after all these years.

    Take care.

  • Good morning.

Susan thanks for the smile. I can just see you and Cyclops, especially when he got out of his cage. I always thought cats were the worst to give medicine to until Stuie(dog) came along. He takes one capsule that gets all sticky the minute I try to shove it down his throat. Then all at once I thought he was taking them. Shook out his blanket to wash it...there was his hidden medicine. So now I poke a hole in capsule and put it over his food. So far no doves have shown up. They never come to the feeders.

Katie for 10 yrs. I sat at a desk and on Tues. and Wed. when I was in the office I made what is called cold calls to companies. Guess people would consider that scam calls now.

Went grocery shopping online again this morning. Don't know if because of coming holiday, our hot weather, or possible bad storms so many things they were out of.

Our gas prices had started to come down a little. With that latest storm looking like it is headed into the Gulf I am sure refineries have already started shutting down.

Keep an eye on the weather, looks like not many places to head to the beach.

  • Hello to all. Not even going to say good afternoon. Since the news tells me differently.

Another hot and muggy day. Managed to get the yard mowed and trimmed yesterday. For some reason our critters are starting to come back into the yard. Still missing lots of birds that are usually out there. Haven't seen any hawks flying around.

Everyone keep an eye on the weather, looks like more storms moving in.

  • Good morning. A little sunshine this morning. Had a downpour yesterday afternoon out of nowhere. A beautiful sunset last evening. Then what looked like almost full moon.

Looks like things getting more and more confusing about the virus shots, and the length of time they are protecting.

Katie some interesting things go on within FB. Do you remember a lady that was on the old pottery board by the name of Julie Berry. Think she lived in LA. I was trying to sort out my old email list. I am ashamed to say this but I don't even know over half of the last names for some. I have entered in what they collected and if they had a dog or a cat, but very few last names!

Susan are you going to be able to look at that new car today? DD washed the outside windows and pulled out screens and scrubbed them. Seems like any outside work has to be done before 10 a.m. as it really gets hot and muggy. We have had a c
couple of clear evenings and I notice it is getting dark just a little bit earlier.

Hi to Marson, Shelly, and Gordon.

  • Good afternoon.

Susan thanks for the offer of rain. We didn't even get any wind from Fred. Glad Grace is heading W. and not coming any closer to us. I don't miss trying to find parking spaces when I drove the GMC truck, but I miss setting up high in cab. Do you have any certain company in depression glass? Perhaps our FL. Gov. tries to do to much.

Katie I just checked my virus card and there was 21 day between shots. Last one on 4/9, so don't know if the 8 months going to apply before third shot. Have you been to visit your sister in Asheville? There is a community close called Black Mountain. Lady has a quilting shop there, very famous. Spent lots of time near Asheville on business. Good luck with your sales.

Hi to Marson, Shelly, and Gordon.

Decided not to go grocery shopping this week. People are getting really worked up about this mask wearing. So I made out a grocery list and ordered for delivery tomorrow. I use to go to some PTA meetings where things got a little hot, but never anyone attacking someone.

Having to have new kitchen faucet installed. Started to leak when turned to different positions. Yes, just my luck. The style on there now is in the process of being discontinued. I wanted the white and Lowe's didn't have it. HD had one, so now for my SIL to install.
