• Good evening everyone. Just a fly-by. Gordon that's some memory you have - right on with the Wedgwood. Was looking at Goddens when I read your message.

I agree with the comments about the politics too. Please just tell me what you're going to do and let me make up my own mind about the other guy!

  • Evening everyone. Shelly, no idea on the vase although the glaze looks/reminds me of a brush turquoise pitcher that I have, but the bottom ring looks very clean. Pretty vase.

pac - can you post a picture of the whole bottom including the whole ring? Looks like a very pretty piece. It doesn't look real old from what you have shown, but some very pretty work.
Gayle, Gordon and all hello. Nothing goin on here.
    Jeanne

  • Good morning everyone.
Shelly, I am flattered. I've got a few books. If you post pictures of the vase I'll look to see if I can help. Does the crack in the stove affect the heating in any way? My glass top is wearing out. A new one coming soon - induction. Can't wait to try it.
Going to thrift this morning and will check back later this afternoon.

    Jeanne

  • Good evening everyone.

    Thanks. Jeanne

  • Good evening Gordon, Shelly, Gayle, Char and all.
Just wanting to wish all of you a Merry, Merry Christmas. Sounds like everyone is ready for Santa and the big day.

Gordon, glad to hear you are grounded somewhere and hope your friend recovers completely.

    Take care everyone. Jeanne

  • Hi Gordon, Shelly, Liz, Gayle, Char and all. If I've not mentioned someone's name, please forgive me. No offense meant.

Just wanted to wish everyone greetings for the season and hope your holidays are all you wish for.

Be careful Gordon, some one was visiting a park out west and got off the track to view a waterfall and then got swept away - with his girlfriend. Neither survived. Been a while ago. Those ropes are there for a purpose!

    Have a greet holiday folks!

    Jeanne

  • Hi Gordon and everyone.

Looks like everyone is cooking today. Me too, just finally getting a chance to check in.

Gordon, I see you won a step forward int he court. Good for you. How far do you have to go? How many levels?

Susan, I had a Prius for 3 years. It's great for running around and there is a display that tells you while you're on the road what kind of mileage you're getting. I see they have a larger one advertised this year. When I bought my Prius, they told me that all their models come, or can be available with the hybrid technology. I traded it in when we were going to drive to New Mexico as it is not real comfortable for me on long trips. It is light and takes constant attention. It's very peppy and gets good mileage, best in traffic stop and start so you can take advantage of the batteries.

Good luck. Maybe the dealer will rent you one or let you drive it for a few days.

  • Good evening everyone. So nice to see Liz and Frank posting more.
Marson, are you still sharing chocolate.

Weather has been beautiful here lately. Today was almost 70. To get a bit cooler and then warm up again.

Sent some boots to my GS at school through Zappos. Had a bit of a problem and they were very attentive. NO postage coming or going. I'm a convert.

A friend's husband died over the weekend. We knew he was sick but I didn't think so weak. Funeral Tuesday.

Went back to pool to do exercising today and I am already getting sore.

Glad to see so many posting. Jeanne

  • Wellie, just scrollling back and saw where you answered my question about your Penny. Thanks. We'll be looking too. I hate being without an animal of some kind. Would love to have some of those miniature cattle, Drexels I think. Jeanne

  • Good morning everyone. Cooler but sunny today after a couple of drizzly overcast dreary days.

Welllie, still would like to know what kind of dog that is in your picture. It looks like a Golden Retriever but the hair is a bit long. A tosseled look.

Gordon, Beth's advice foer velcro is good and you can also get magnets with adhesive back and in strips I think. G ood for when there is a stiff breeze.

Have a doc appointment today and then a shift at the thrift.l

    Y'all have a good day.

    Jeanne

  • Good morning everyone. Just wanted to say hello and catch up on the comings and goings.

Wellie - what kind of dog is that in your photo?

Going to get dressed and out to lunch with a friend.
    Hope you all are well.

  • Hi Shelly, Gayle (Lois), Bill and all.

Bill can you come be my cook.?

Gordon, I was going to say something about seasoning the pan, too. You definitely have to do that.

    Jeanne

  • Good evening everyone - Hi Wes, nice to see you around. Can't help with NOrth Star lids though. Ah, yes, politics seems to be heating up, but I'll not get into that.

Gordon, if you cook pork well done, it is like shoe leather unless it is braised (cooked with moisture, low & slow) Do you have a small portable grill. That really is the best way, I think. Seasoned well and grilled until "floppy" is best for my two cents.

I'd have hated to be the guy with the snuffling dog your bunch scared away. Did you check to see if you gave him a heart attack ? Jeanne

  • OK - I finally found your messages. I was looking on the wrong boards. So glad to hear he will be back to normal. Looks pretty chipper in the video. What kind of tick is it? Wonder if we have them here. they're are some nasties here too.

Losing my manners. Hello to everyone.. About to go to bed. Just need to take dog out. Hoping it has stopped raining. Jeanne

  • Gordon, I am just catching up. What happened to Hugo? Sounds like kids. Howling for their parents and very sweet when out of their sight. But what happened? Jeanne

  • Hello to all you Potties. Been posting ont he other board. Yes Susan, I'm in Maryland. Assateague Island is not 5 miles away. Katie, the northern part of the island is a national seashore and the wild horses are just that. Wild horses, no intervention. The southern herd is owned by the chincoteague Volunteer Fire Dept, who each year run an auction of the new foals, and that becomes their operating funds. I don't know if they feed them or round them up during a storm. On Assateague in a storm in the early 90s there were many horses that drowned. They are trying to reduce the herd by birth control and attrition. You can "adopt" a wild horse or bid to name a new foal during Christmas time. Check assateagueislandalliance.com

Wow the winds have picked up considerably in the past few minutes. Norfolk is only about 100 miles from us.

  • Good afternoon everyone. Guess I need to get used to reading both boards for a while. Hope all are well. It's quiet here now but the eye of the hurrican is expected to go right over us, so we are battening the hatches as we speak. Tomorrow will be the day. Amazing how much stuff you have outside until you have to pick it all up at once.

Ocean City is evacuating, mandatory, and West Ocean City also - the sewer & water will both be turned off. I expect we'll lose electricity at some time, but we have another day to prepare.

Hope anyone else in the line of fire is safe.

Dan, sounds like you did well. I love hand work. Keep giving them he$$ at work. I imagine they got fined for by-passing? I know they fined our county and Ocean Pines once - hefty too about $50,000

Hopefully it will slow to a cat. 1 by the time it hits us but most likely scenario from NOAA is cat.2

Plume your comments this morning : Well Said!

It is sultry and still, waiting for4 hurrican that threatens to get over us at each new forecast. It's quiet here now but the eye of the hurrican is expected to go right over us, so we are battening the hatches as we speak. Tomorrow will be the day. Amazing how much stuff you have outside until you have to pick it all up at once.

There is a mandatory evacuation from Ocean City - everyone by midnight tonight and from West ocean city and other areas close to water or prone to flooding to evacuate. The water and sewer will be turned off.

Hopefully it will slow to a cat. 1 by the time it hits us but most likely scenario from NOAA is cat.2
