Gordon - Thank you for the information. I do appreciate it. I am working on a toothpick holder and a german vase right now. Every box I open has a suprise in it. I have seen china, pottery, milk glass, carnaval glass, eapg, depression and even some stuff I have not figured out yet - I think one is paper mache. I will be back.

Gordon - thank you for the help - I did your test and they are porcelain. Since I know nothing about this kind of stuff and I still have a dozen boxes of things to get ID'd, you will more than likely see me again to pick your wealth of knowledge. Thank you once again you have been a lot of help.

Good morning - I am working on the identification of items in my mother-in-laws estate for my step children and I have hit a wall with these bowl and spoon sets. I have not found anything that even comes close to the shape of the blank or pattern. I do not know if they are pottery, porcelain or ceramic - I am just stumped and will be seriously grateful for all your help.
Spoon is approx 5.5" long, 1.25" wide and 1" deep
Bowl 6.5" at widest point to include the handle and 1.25" deephttp://i41.tinypic.com/mjmgis.jpg
