• Thanks for your comments. Actually the frog piece belongs to DGD who is also an eBay seller. I sent your comments on to her. I have invited her to join this board so we may be seeing a new person soon.

  • Good morning Pottery friends,
Have a question for you. Anybody know anything about this piece of pottery?

    TIA for any comments.

  • Gordon, Interesting pics and facts about the Emu.

  • Sunny day here in Indy. I took pictures yesterday. Now to write the listings.
@fyrqueen --- Katie , Beth had answered my translation question. But thanks anyway.

  • Cloudy now but sunshine through much of day here in Indy.
I just finished reading a fascinating books ”In Deep” by Maxine Kumin. If I remember correctly Kumin mentions using a mixture of manure ( cow dung) and used motor oil for painting the fences on her Connecticut farm.

  • Good morning Potty Friends, Sun can't decide to stay out or hide behind a passing cloud. Lots of rain and some flooding over the weekend here in Indy.
I did get some pictures made. This old farm girl has learned that you 'gotta make hay while the sun is shining." Now to get them cropped and get the listing made.

  • Gordon--- This Irene's item. I just posted it because she was having trouble posting to the list. She probably will read your message though.

  • and here is the bottom of Irene's cup:::
    Picture of bottom of cup.

  • Gordon --- Tarantula -Golden Orb---I looked at Wikipedia. As I recall there was as spider pictured there but not named that looked like a Golden Orb.

  • Gordon,, Do you have what we call Tarantuls ? Is that Golden Orb a Tarantul ?

  • Overcast , gloomy day here in Indy until late afternoon. Then that sun shine looked good.
Happy Mother’s Day for tomorrow to all the mothers, moms, step-mothers, grandmothers and any who substitute in a mother’s role.

  • Hello everybody,
Hope everyone in our hemisphere is enjoying some nice spring weather. Lots of rain here in Indiana.
DH and I went to Great Clips for haircuts. I had planned the timing so we would miss the lunch time customers. Instead we hit the after school customers. We had to wait almost an hour for our turn.
Most of the customers who had to wait went on to do something else while waiting for their turn . But we waited in the shop. I did enjoy seeing brothers ---- maybe 6 and 10 years old--- get their Mohawk cuts. Those beauticians earned their money as it takes a good bit of precision cutting to be sure to keep the sides of the Mohawk cuts even.

I noted as we were driving there along one our busier north south streets that there were a lot of dead trees on the right-of-way of that street.

  • Good morning peeps, Looks like we are going to have a beautiful day here in Indy. Maybe I’ll get some pics made this morning. Going to get a much needed hair cut this afternoon.
Would love to stop in at Menards to get some onion sets but don’t know if I’ll be able to persuade DH to do that.
Awww--- Your epicurean foods are out of my tasting area. No insects , rats and such for me.

  • Gordon--- there are many different kinds of Viburnums. The snowball probably has the showiest blossoms though.

  • Gordon ---- are you calling ( inquiring ) of the northern hemisphere --- the Viburnums ? I have some in my back yard. I'll a get a pic of those. But mostly I was thinking of what we call snow balls. Will try to get a pic of one of those when I go out tomorrow.

  • Posted this on the Book Board but don't know if you follow all the boards as I do.
Good morning all, We had a lovely outing yesterday. Lots of Viburnums in bloom. Just a little late for the Red-buds But the Dogwoods were spectacular . Especially the pink Dogwoods. We drove by the house of one DD to check her gardening activities . Nothing much going on in front but I think she has been working on the back yard where she has lots of help from her 3 yo grandson. Nothing like a 3 yo boy with a shovel and a dirt pile. Will check the garden of a 2nd DD when we go out tomorrow.

  • Dreary morning here in Indy. I'm planning on an adventure to the the post office and grocery store. Haven't been out in 5-6 weeks. I'll sit in the car while DH does the shopping.

Terrible news about Martha. I'll be saying little prayers for her and her DH. And sending my thoughts. I lost a beloved sister-in-law to lung cancer. She had never smoked and my brother, her DH, quit smoking many years ago.

  • Gordon , Beautiful picture. Thanks.
And Chris I think you might get a little bidding war of your Dachshund doggies. Cute and I suspect quite uncommon to find in good condition.

  • Gordon, Glad they had the courtesy to let you know the results of their research. I was afraid that you would never know.

  • Gordon--- What an interesting story about your meeting with Qld Dept of Primary.

  • As Gordon says 'let them live and die OLD' But let us take what pleasure we can get from the simple things in life.

  • That should have been " Could you be mistaking those looks for looks of admiration? "

  • @trezchick Gayle, You look pretty good to this old lady who is older than dirt . Could be mistaking those looks for looks of admiration? One of my beloved sisters-in-law said that she had actually forgotten what the natural hair color of her was.

  • Beautiful sunny day here in Indy. Have plans for some pictures in a few minutes.

  • Sixties ?????--- I'm so far past those I will soon forget how to spell the word.

  • Good evening Potty friends,
Just dropping in for a minute. I had an esophagus dilation this afternoon for which I had to be anesthetized. Slept for 4 hours after I got home but still woozy. Guess I’ll go back for some more sleep.
Who is getting old??? Not me said 10bbg10 as she lumbers off down the hall on her walker being sure to stop by the pill cabinet to finish off the days allotment of pills.

  • If you haven't already done so here is an opportunity. Go over the the Book Board to read the posting by Kathleen ( ludwig ) of the wonderful poem that was read at the Presidential inauguration.

  • Good evening Potty friends,
We had a beautiful sunny day here in Indy. I saw our outside neighborhood cat for the first time in weeks.
Hello to Wes in Fargo, Marson , the chocolate lover, Gayle, Gordon and any others who happen to drop by.
I posted a part of this on the Glass Board. Thought some of you might get a chuckle from the "gathering" DD. Since I've been a little peaked for the past 4-5 weeks our youngest DD, the nursey DD, took me out for a ride to enjoy and soak up some sunshine this afternoon. She has suggested and moved my recliner to that window that I spend an hour day soaking up sunshine in my recliner in front of an east window. Guess that will be a good time to read our daily newspaper.
Anyway I suggested that I had some items of special significance that she might want. When she brought me home she gathered all of the items up and took them home with her TODAY!

  • From the Glass Board::: On Ruby Lane the advertising fee going from $20 to $30 per month and the base listing fee of 15 is going up to 24.
I don't list there and probably won't. I have all I can handle with trying to increase my ebay store inventory. I have 3 ready to go for tomorrow, Will try to do pics and description of a clothing item or 2 for Friday.

  • Good afternoon Potty friends,
Hello there Bob , Susan and whomever comes in the door.
A sunny mild winter day here in Indy. Sure glad we are not having to deal with the kind of weather that the far northeast is dealing with .
I got a few pictures while the sun was shining but haven't looked at them yet. While passing through the garage when I went out to get the paper this morning I noticed a sterling silver candlestick which ought to bring a good price as scrap silver. Got the listing written. Now to get the pictures inserted.
Had a couple of naps in my recliner along with some snacks.
With my techie DD's help I've been dealing with changes in the software program which I use of listing books. Hope to get the last of the problems resolved tonight.
Having bean soup for supper. So back to work for a bit now.

  • @lookwhatbobfound Bob, Why snake stamps? is there some special occasion?

  • @trezchick Gayle, If you can't spray how in the heck are you going to get rid of the bed bugs? Then again the bed bug treatment may be fumigation. Is that legal in Toronto?
I've heard my mom tell many times about two of her uncles who were traveling ministers in the early 1900s. When they visited their mother they brought the bed bugs in their hats which they hung on the bed posts.
Grandmother used kerosene to get rid of the bed bugs.

  • @lookwhatbobfound Bob, Don't send one of those slithery snake stamps to me.LOL

  • Our DGS' business requires him to travel and stay in various hotels . His mom our DD was just here . I told her suggest that he inspect the bedding before he accepts a room.
And they have been dealing with head lice which one or more of the 3 children brought home from school.

  • @whodat111 Susan, Guess there are some who think birth control of animals is wrong.

  • @trezchick Gayle Thanks for your comment on my cream soup cups.
I went through 20 pages of listings on ebay . Also spent sometime Googling. Found a Greek key pattern that was similar. It did seem that there many Spode Copeland items with no pattern name. I’ll think about it some more. May have to go without a pattern name.

  • Good afternoon Potty Friends,
Much snow and cold temps but sunny here in Indy. I need to take picture of clothing . Will head out to do that as soon as I finish posting this.
I'm hoping that someone can ID this cream soup and saucer / plate. And hoping that I remember how to get the images posted properly on a message board.

I went through every ebay listing and several at Replacements.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Good morning Potty friends,
Jan. 5th already. The month and year will be gone before I am ready.
Quite cold here in Indy but supposed to be sunny so maybe I'll get some pictures made. At least I hope so as we are supposed to have more snow and cloud cover for the next 3 days.
Up a bit earlier but did some kitchen chores and fixed my hot chocolate and breakfast snacks. DH probably will do either sausage and gravy or sausage and eggs when he gets up. By then I'll be ready for S&???.
Now to get down to my drink and snacks. And research few items which I hope to get listed.

  • Good chuckle Bob. I sometimes pass over that strip when I'm reading the comics. I missed that one.

  • Just checking in to wish all a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Our DD provided us with the black eyed peas and corn bread . So we should be O'K' for another year as far as luck is concerned.
Very cold here in Indy and had a mini blizzard last week. Then more snow but soft and fluffy and easy for the new snow blower to move.

  • Good morning Potty Friends.
Too cold to get out of my cozy bed this morning. Stayed there until DH turned the thermostat up and lighted the gas log. Having a cup of hot chocolate now.Need some groceries but may just do without. Plenty of food on hand just not what I have on my short list.
Cloudy and overcast so glad I got a batch of pictures made yesterday while we had the sun .

  • Good morning Potty Friends. I've been up since 3:00am. Feeling better and getting back into my old early morning routine. Been trying to get my winter hats listed. Looks like hats do not sell well . But gottem so gotta list them . Have one more to go.
Indy had a mini blizzard on Wednesday.
Having been and predicted 4 out of 5 days of cloudy days it looks like we may get some sun today. I must do pictures while the light is good.
Going to relax a bit and read my paper until the sun is ready to do its thing.

  • Thank you Gayle . Nice to find that . I kept looking for "blue" and missed that one.
    Helen

  • Good day Potty Friends. Been out of commission with back pain problems for the past 5-6 weeks.
Finally took a couple of pictures today. Wondering if anybody can come up with a pattern name for this plate.

Should be in the order of plate front, back and back stamp:::

  • Earlier I had mentioned that some group in Greenwood, IN was trying to get a law passed forbidding leaving food for animals because it would draw coyotes. The city council voted it down. Seemed like a silly and unenforceable law to me anyway.

  • @jmart8248 Irene , It depends on what method of shipping I've promised. It is usually First Class International in which case I use a card board box --- not Priority.

  • I do have one of the ceramic trees already listed. Hope to do 2 more today.

  • @whodat111 Susan, I have lots of Christmas stuff and had quite a bit of out in my mall booth last year. Didn't sell very well. So this year I have offered it to family members. I have two large boxes ready to go to a grand-son and his family. A grand-daughter came for my tree , some lights and ornaments just last evening. Sending another large box to a grand-daughter in Missouri when our DD goes there next week. I think a local DD will be taking some of my best glass ornaments. I have 2-3 ceramic trees. I'm working on getting them in my ebay store for local pick-up only. And wouldn't you know a buyer in Pennsylvania has ask if I would consider shipping it? Of course she would pay the shipping. I politely declined her offer.

  • We have the huge pharmaceutical company of Eli Lilly here in town. I'm surprised that they have not already come up with a vaccination or liquid or pill birth control for animals.

  • @whodat111 Susan , I think some local neighborhood is trying to get a ban on out door feeding of cats & dogs because of the attraction to coyotes.
Speaking of putting some de-wormer on the food its too bad that there is no birth control meds that one could give to the animals. Or is such already available?

  • Good morning Potty Friends,
I hope that all of you were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with family, friends or your best choice.
My DH, eldest DD & her DH and I, went to an open house at our DGson's place. Had turkey and all things Thanksgiving . But maybe not------ as I believe there was no dish with cranberries. We brought home a nice lot of left overs. We can provide our own cranberries!!! We'll make a pumpkin pudding today to eke out the left overs.
The best part for me was seeing my eldest 3 great-grands. I came away chuckling about the 12 year old great-granddaughter's room . Supposedly DGGD had cleaned it . One of her other grandmothers had remarked that it might be clean but it surely was not neat and clean.
The eldest, a 14 year old boy, has volunteered to work Saturdays at the library where he will teach the basic of PC use to their older patrons.
The 11 year old great-grandson was his usual charming self. He was neatly dressed with a neck tie over a tucked in white shirt---- but no shoes.

  • Good morning to all Potty friends,
Hope each one of you are having a great Thanksgiving. Since our three DDs who live here in town are making all the arrangement and plans DH and I are not sure just what we will be doing. We'll either hop when they say hop or sit back and enjoy the whole event.
@allirish123 Your Nymphenburg porcelain sounds very interesting. Hope you can a pic up soon so we can all take a look.

  • I may have to rethink the Christmas item strategy. I agree that some Christmas items go in the collectible category and would sell throughout the year.

  • I have a Premium store, too. I was pretty sure that how often and how much the fee would be would depend on the the store level. With Auctiva I have the option of 'good til cancelled' but I use either the 30 day re-list option or in the case of my Christmas items I do the manual upload every 30 days. In either case the fee is still 5 cents for 30 days.

  • @lookwhatbobfound Bob, For store listings how much and how often is there a listing fee when you use good til canceled?
Happy birthday @doreen366ml . We are still eating left over Halloween candy.

  • @lookwhatbobfound Bob , I use Auctiva and do only 30day listings for the store. Auctiva does have a feature that reduces the price by a set percentage every time it is re listed. I did use that feature when i Had my 2010-2011 store but have not set it to do that since I opened my 2012 store. Maybe I will start doing that.

  • @trezchick , Gayle & @lookwhatbobfound Bob, I pretty much follow Bobs' line of thought and actions. I know that I must keep my inventory at competitive prices. Before listing any items I do a good bit research to determine a competitive price. Sometimes I even go back and redo some of that research after the offer comes in.
And since I sell only items which I have purchased for resale I do consider my cost of goods ( COG) . If I find some fault that I had not previously noted such as a missing part or tears in clothing I might send it back to the thrift shop as a donation.
I had almost rather re-donate it than contribute to the free fall of prices as has happened in the book business.

  • Y'all probably read the other boards same as I do. But in case you don't. As posted on the Book Board.
Seeking advice on the question of offers. What percentage off would you find readily acceptable?
    My own thoughts are:::
A.Is this a newly listed item that has never before been available from my inventory ? For instance an offer has been made for 23% off on an item that was posted for the first time only 2-3 hour ago. And in my ebay searches I had not found another one just like it either as available or on closed listing. I did have the word 'Scarce' in the title. The offer came from a party who said " My daughter collects these and does not have this one."
    B. How much did I pay for this item?
    C. How long have I had this in my inventory?
D.Since I rarely do auctions and have had my ebay store open now for a couple of months after having it open for 7- 8 months in late 2011- and early 2012. I need to think, too, about how much and when has it been available either in my auctions or my ebay store?
    F. Finally --- what is your response? Decline? Ignore? Counter offer?

  • Now the sun is shining like it was not ashamed of itself for hiding out earlier in the morning. I had better go take some pictures.

  • We just had 30 minutes of a heavy wet snow but no accumulation as it melted as soon as it hit the ground.

  • I just got an invitation from ebay to list 30 day BINS free. If this promotion is open to any of you who have a large batch of unsold listings already prepared this would be a great chance for you to a sample a store type setting. Don't know but suppose one would still get thier 50 free listing along wth the 30 day BINS.
There is a long time seller who has had a store from the early day of ebay stores who says that one needs a lot of listings--- I think she says 200 or more--- to do well with a store. I am not overjoyed with it but I am pleased with my store.

  • @panishklo Marson, Did you get that snow that was predicted?

  • Good evening Potty People,
Haven't been here --- at least not on print here--- in a few days.I have been trying to get ads for all of my Christmas stuff written up and ready to go in my ebay store. In the spirit of the pre-season I think I'll drag out one of my ceramic Christmas trees and get it set up. I have 3 or 4. I would love to sell a couple of them but they would be way to hard to pack and ship.

Today I had a prospective buyer make a very low offer which I declined with no counter offer. Buyer erred and clicked to buy the item at full price. Of course she wants to cancel the transaction. Had never had to have a transaction cancelled before so had to figure that one out. Frustrating.
That made me so tired that I had to go take a pre-bedtime nap. LOL. Think maybe if I get such offers again I'll just let them expire with no response.
Did get the payment from my last slow paying buyer.
Good night and see all of you in the morning

  • @fyrqueen Katie , All time pieces done here except my watch and probably the clock in the car. Maybe tomorrow mum.

  • Apparently my difficulty on getting on to the Glass Board was a glitch as after checking all the other boards when I went back to the GB I got right one.

  • Just checking all of the sites as I am having trouble logging into the Glass Board.

  • Good morning Potty friends,
I'm anxiously awaiting news from our Eastern and North Eastern friends

I’ve set myself and my household helper to the chore of labeling and eventually assigning a number every item in my inventory. Wish me luck !! I need lots of luck and persistence.

  • And good morning Potty friends,
Very concerned about our eastern friends. If they are in trouble they are probably too busy to report in.

  • Good night Potty friends,
Hope all of you are safe and dry.
    Se y'all tomorrow.

  • Morning Gayle @trezchick .

@whodat111 Susan , Sounds like a great auction and y'all came home the winners. What kind of sewing machine did you get? I need to sell some sewing machines--- and that is MACHINES . Keep meaning to test one and then get pictures and put it up on Craig's list. Maybe today and maybe not.

Had this bit of fun yesterday.
Trying to dump this item on a DD or DGDIL::
    ”””””Anybody making Christmas cookies ?
I have this Electric Foodgun that looks like it would be a ton of fun for the gadget oriented kids with a guaranteed mess for somebody to clean up. Full directions and recipes included. And wouldn’t you know the cleaning brush is missing?””””””

Offer declined by all the females but snatched up by a son-in-law who will be making cookies with his 29 months old grandson. Our DD, the grandmother, said ” PERFECT! I get to watch the fun, sample the product, and XXXXX will do all the work. Life is good. XXXXX ”

  • Good Sunday morning to all of you potty people,
Northeastern hurricane and British Columbia earthquake and Tsunami Warning For Alaska, Hawaii . Run for cover!!! Don't remember ever hearing of dangerous weather for Hawaii. Not much weather news here in the mid-west as yesterday was a beautiful sunny day but on the coldish side.Supposed to be cloudy today but sunny tomorrow and Tuesday.
Had a good sleep but often wakeful. It doesn’t bother me so much as I just snuggle down and do a little wakeful dreaming or planning for the following day. Always nice to reach over an give DH a pat as he sleeps right onnnnnnnnnn !
Now to carry out some of those plans. Onward!!!
@trezchick Gayle Will report more later about life on the Iowa prairies in the late 1800. Having lived on those Iowa prairies for a few years just thinking about the winters and the blizzards give me the shivers.
Now I need some hot cappuccino !
    Helen in Indy

  • Think I'll be off to my bed and book. Been reading about boyhood on the Iowa prairie in the late 1800s. Quite interesting. Many boys started handling a team of horses and a plow by the age of 10 and were doing the work of a grown man by the time they were 14 or 15.

  • A littile update here:::
All of you easterners and northeastern folks do your best to stay safe. We grew accustomed to the typhoons when we live in the Philippines. Many old timers kept a couple 30 gallon plastic garbage cans just for storing water. We filled our bath tub, wash tubs and every other container that we could find.
I remember one time we were watching the pouring rain from our 2nd story bedroom window when someone said that it reminded them of the Iowa blizzards that we had been through.
Another time our village flooded and we had 6 inches of water on our first floor. The lament that time was’ look at all the floating roaches’.

  • Good evening Potty Friends, Just reporting in. Nothing new here. Sitting here having a cup of soup before I go to bed. We have now finished off a sizable pot of potato soup . Tomorrow will be meat loaf day.
Still working on getting anything and everything that I have that is for dining or food preparation pictured and listed. Have sold a couple of things and as I had said earlier I sold all of my stove top Corning Ware to my DDs neighbor—– well not quite all . There are a couple of rather expensive saucemakers.
Spent 45 minutes cleaning a piece of Wagner Ware and a hammered aluminum roaster. Have the descriptions written and price research done. Now for the pictures. Maybe tomorrow mum!
Looks like we are in for the tail end rains from Sandy so maybe not tomorrow.

  • @whodat111 Susan, Thanks for giving us an update. Sounds like you need a few days off just to recuperate from all the moving and remodeling.

  • @trezchick Gayle, Good to see you here again. Wonder where Susan is. I hope she is not ill.

  • Good early morning,
Thinking when i was supposed to sleeping about our first set of dishes. I remembered the name.
    Here they are:::
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-PURINTON-BLAIR-POTTERY-GAY-PLAID-DINNER-PLATES-/300787249263?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item460851306f
A lovely neighbor lady gave the set to me at a bridal shower.

  • @justmim Morning mim and any other person who passes through . Our first set of dishes were a set for 4 of square with a green and brown plaid. I also remember buying peanut butter in those pretty footed milk glass glasses.
When we married in late 1949 both DH and I were students at the Univ. of Arkansas. The U of A had moved many WWII barracks to the U of A campus. The barracks were placed in two different areas. The Terry Village apartments were for married vets with children. It was quite a walk from Terry Village to the main part of the campus.
Another area was quite close to the main part of the campus. Those were for the single vets. That area also had some small house trailers which were for married vets with no children. We lived in one of those for a while, too. Before there was a vacancy in the trailer area we had to find a rental apartment for a short period of time. That apartment was on a steep hill side across from the Razorback stadium. We could see about half of the game from our front window.

  • I feel sort of duty bound to participate because I appreciate these boards so much as a way to relieve the boredom of writing titles and descriptions for both ebay and my book data base.
I'll be back later with a response to mim's comments.
Still I hesitate to post the same or very similar messages on each of the boards.

  • Good very early morning ,
Couldn't sleep so got up. turned the gas log on to knock the chill of and will measure and write the listing for a couple to suede skirts. Hope to get the pictures later today.
The little garments are binders--- that word seems to be getting a work-out of late. Here is a picture of the label. http://i45.tinypic.com/oi5avc.jpg

I am planning to have a glorious Sunday . Hope all of you have one too.
    Helen in Indy

  • Good evening Potty Friends
Have had a bright sunny day her in Indy. I made several pictures.
Do any of you remember these? Tomorrow I’ll send the brand label along. Each one of these 3 pieces is about 23 inches long by 4-5 inches wide.

    Have fun.

  • Good evening Potty Friends,
Time for a little distraction from all of that Corning ware that I found lurking here and there on my shelves. I think I have one more piece to get pics of and describe,
The rain showers that we have been having are causing leaf showers. DH is stewing about how he can get them all gathered. He gets them bagged and ready to mulch by running the lawn mower over them but that is a lot of walking for him I think his riding mower is inoperable right now. Poor guy, Always something to stew about.
He came in this afternoon to announce that our neighbors to the north have added a dog. I think that makes 4 for them. I think they have a contact at the city pound that calls them when they have a dog of interest.
Wishing each one of you a pleasant week end.

  • @ver2us1 Janice , Thanks. i was sure that you would come through. I had done some Googling but did not come up with the pattern name. Thanks, Helen in Indy

  • Good evening Potty Friends,
I've had a frustrating late afternoon and early evening. I had taken a lot of pictures but could not get the disk to open. It did finally open after I went off to let it sulk for an hour or more.
Thought I would stick this up hoping some one might drop in tonight or tomorrow to tell me a pattern ID on it.

  • @lookwhatbobfound Bob , This increase is of particular interest to those who sell through Amazon and ship books to international addresses. The Flat Rate envelope cost is being increased from $16.95 to $19.95. Amazon’s reimbursement for this cost is already less than the actual cost. Will they or won’t they increase that reimbursement ?

  • Good evening Potty friends,
Have had a busy day . The household helper was here today and we accomplished quite a lot. She doesn’t do the best job of cleaning but she is always cheerful, willing and she really moves. She has been with us for a couple of years so she knows our household routine. And she talks loudly enough that we can understand her without having to have her repeat often. That alone gives her a lot of job insurance.

  • @whodat111 Susan , Congratulations on your anniversary. Glad you are feeling better. Maybe you should buy a new belt for that old vacuum.
LOL about Bru shooting for the bed while still wet.

  • @ver2us1 Janice , I did realize after a bit that it was you who had sent the emails about the candle snuffers. Thank you. Help and corrections are always appreciated.
We have been with out electricity for most of the afternoon. Had some rain but had not noticed any wind or lightening. Apparently the outage was not wide spread as we could see lights at our neighbors just up the hill from us.
For once I finished looking at and reading the entire Sunday paper. Now I must Google to see who won the Colts game.

  • Good morning Potty friends,
Sunday morning and I am finalizing a listing for a 19th century sterling top puff jar.
Woke up to 2 ridiculously low offers. How does one respond to these? I would like to ignore them but then I think maybe the offering party may think that their offers might not have been received by the seller.
Just this last week I did have the satisfaction of selling and shipping 2 items that had received such offers. Have to admit though that I did accept very low offers on 2 items that had been in my inventory from way back.
Thanks for any sharing on the subject of low offers.

PS @nancyg —Did you come round to check my incorrectly titled candle snuffer? I corrected it. Thanks and by-the-way one of those ridiculously low offers that came in overnight was the candle snuffer.

  • Will share my yesterday with y'all.
My day improved as time moved it along. We had a beautiful sunny day and I needed to take pictures. Had been somewhat out of sorts as I had spent about 2 hours taking pictures on Wednesday. When I sat down at the computer to crop the pics I laid my SanDisk down for a second right here near the printer. Then could not find it . Thought maybe it fell of the front of my desk so I got a light and got down on the floor. Then got the vacuum out to clean while I was down there. But no SanDisk to be found. A new $12.50 disc and 2 hours work gone, gone , gone. Really 3 hours as I spent nearly an hour looking for it.
My household helper dropped by late this afternoon. She walked over to the computer pulled out the drawer underneath the computer and picked up the disk.
Is that an improved day or what?

  • @wellingtonct Laurie, Glad to see you here. Hope you can come in more often. Don't know. Is the fall a busy time in your business?
